[07:23] what do you mean? [07:23] the wiki? [07:23] I mean for more than just wiki, does ubuntu collect howtos or just the standard documentation listed on the docteam wiki. [07:26] sabmoc, i guess the best option would be if you could write a howto in docbook format [07:27] sabmoc, then it can be transformed into wiki markup, or added into existing documentation in the SVN repos [07:27] but straight onto the wiki is another option [07:27] well I just wrote a little howto on the wiki earlier today before work [07:27] or post a link to the ubuntu-doc mailinglist [07:28] Ok, I'll do that [07:28] cool. Maybe post what it is about to the mailinglist [07:28] :) [07:28] its not very useful, but you never know [07:28] everything helps [07:29] I find that it takes a few small things for me to get comfortable with contributing to a team [07:29] heh, sometimes nothing helps :D [07:30] yes, I kind of joined during a slow period between releases. [07:30] i reckon for the kind of thing the doc team is doing even a start is good [07:30] after hoary releases, I am going to be working on getting lots of good, small howtos together [07:30] otherwise noone may do it [07:31] I actually like documenting [07:31] Burgundavia, there is a wealth of small things in the wiki... it keeps getting bigger [07:31] Burgundavia, you can add this if you want it https://www.ubuntulinux.org/wiki/GPGsigningforSSHHowTo [07:33] that is kind of stuff I want to add to docbook stuff [07:34] ok, that will give me a chance to brush up on docbook [07:34] that would be good for adding to the admin guide [07:35] really? cool [07:35] do you know how to checkout the docteam repos? [07:37] I I haven't done it yet [07:37] but its not a problem [07:38] cool, the admin guide is there already, Sean has added a bit of content, but the structure is not 100% defined yet [07:39] oh ok, I was looking at the html version and I noticed it was kind of empty. I asumed that the svn was full of content and the html just hadn't been updated [07:39] no, it will not be ready for Hoary [07:39] aww :( [07:39] its looks really cool [07:40] it likely to make it in for warty? [07:40] or uh, whatever the name of the next release will be.. [07:40] Yeah! i hope to work on it soon... it would be great [07:40] i think it is grumpy?? [07:40] not sure actually [07:40] thats the one! [07:41] and next after grumpy is breezy [07:41] its the seven dwarves [07:41] warty, grumpy, breezy, sleezy, and charles [07:41] :) [07:41] Well i am off... nice to meet you [07:42] nice to meet you too trickie :) [07:47] the name of the next release is breezy [07:51] Burgundavia, that is the name of the release after the next release. [07:52] Im pretty sure [07:52] ? [07:53] http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=20381 [08:02] Burgundavia, omg [08:02] I even read that email === sabmoc slaps his forehead and says "doh" [08:03] lol [08:03] there was a lot of confusion regarding the name [08:03] wiki still says grumpy a lot of the time [08:03] there was talk of a sid-style rolling unstable as well [08:04] that was going to be called grumpy [08:04] I don't know what ever came of that [08:05] well I was under the impression that grumpy was next and then breezy after that [08:05] but that email is pretty clear, and I think breezy makes for a better choice [08:07] no mention of having a rolling unstable in it though [08:08] what I heard came directly from marks mouth in Mataro === Liz [~meh@fixed-203-87-27-63.nsw.chariot.net.au] has joined #ubuntu-doc [10:52] African Greetings === jsgotangco [DaWorm@dialup-222-126-78-119.infocom.ph] has joined #ubuntu-doc [01:09] ei just a heads up i think we have wiki disaster again === mdke [Matt@spc1-watf1-4-0-cust201.asfd.broadband.ntl.com] has joined #ubuntu-doc [01:31] this frontpage business is extraordinary [01:32] i know [01:32] tsk tsk [01:33] i see who did it i think [01:34] i think i can get it back [01:35] hold on ill reboot [01:36] done [01:46] anyone know how to contact people who make changes like deleting the FrontPage?
