[05:36] testing the cd image that Kamion prepared for me last night [05:36] before the daily run [05:37] ah.. [05:38] i was just spending time with my wife tonight [05:39] my wife is sleeping at 5:40 am :) [05:40] well its only 10:40 PM and she is watching tv [05:48] wtf is lilo going on about? [05:51] "april fools" i think. [05:51] he's being a dumbass. [05:51] some things are just way more irritating than funny. [05:52] heh...maybe the it people at work should turn off the mail servers...now that would be funny [05:54] i should just use one of my backdoors and shut down half of internet in europe for the rest of the day [05:54] shut off the french we dont need them..no one wants to talk to T-Bone anyways ;) [05:55] yeah i could do that [06:00] fabbione: send en email to -users saying that if you installed the nvidia drivers i now have backdoor to your system...kthxbye [06:02] fabbione, eh? who do you work for? :) [06:02] zul: meh! [06:03] kylem: canonical.. but i have been working around alot :) [06:03] :) [06:06] ahah [06:32] night [07:47] jbailey: yep. === Seveas [~seveas@seveas.demon.nl] has joined #ubuntu-kernel === Seveas [~seveas@ksl403-uva-134.wireless.uva.nl] has joined #ubuntu-kernel === Seveas [~seveas@ksl403-uva-134.wireless.uva.nl] has joined #ubuntu-kernel === Seveas [~seveas@ksl403-uva-134.wireless.uva.nl] has joined #ubuntu-kernel [02:20] svenl: I managed to sort it out. benh pointed out to me that yaboot can't boot directly off of a raid array - need a seperate /boot [02:21] svenl: Someone mentioned that you were hacking partman to set that all up correctly - are you still doing that? [03:37] jbailey: nope. [03:37] partman is an unmaintainable mess, i won't touch it even with a 10 foot pole, as they say. [03:38] jbailey: i tried to do some partman-prep for prep and IBM rs6k boxes, but i doesn't work as expected. [03:39] 'kay. In case I wind up doing it (which I might, since setting up raid was otherwise really annoying yesterday), am I right in that there isn't a special partition type for md partitions? [03:40] I wasn't able to find alot of information yesterday on mac partition tables and linux. [03:40] (I did discover that evms likes to eat mac partition tables, though...) === zul [~chuck@198.62.158.205] has joined #ubuntu-kernel [03:48] oi who is that ugly mug on planet [03:51] jbailey: you really need parted 1.6.23 (not yet released) though. [03:52] jbailey: last i checked, setting up lvm over raid was no problem in partman. [03:52] oh, you mean telling partman you need a separate boot ? [03:52] No, the raid configuration bits don't see any raid partitions, and partman doesn't give any way of setting some up. [03:52] what i do is have a 1GB /boot and a 1GB swap on the other disk, and then do LVM over raid 0/1 with the rest of the partition. [03:53] jbailey: that is because you don't use the right parted. [03:53] jbailey: works fine with debian on pegasos. [03:53] jbailey: would work out of the box with the 1.6.23 version of parted even on pmacs. [03:53] 'kay, so I won't fret about it - we'll get it automatically after we start merging again. [04:10] yep. [04:10] it should work on pegasos already though. [05:17] hey guys [05:17] we need a kernel release name :) [05:17] we are greenlight for -33 (security fixes) [05:18] from the last list we have: [05:18] 7:37fabbione"Orgasmic Onions" [05:18] 07:38fabbione"Tripping Tomatoes" [05:18] 07:38fabbione"Super Spinach" [05:18] 07:38fabbione"Marvelous Marrow" [05:19] gangreen goats [05:19] er..gangreen goatcheese [05:19] zul: since when goats are vegetables? [05:19] cheezy cantalopes [05:19] wth is that? [05:20] type of mellon [05:20] lamont: where are your kids? [05:20] heh i suck [05:21] i guess i need to dict cheezy [05:21] zul [05:22] a cheezy melon sounds really disgusting [05:23] heh i know [05:23] shitty squash is more inviting [05:23] hehe [05:24] jbailey: you are a vegan... [05:24] you are supposed to know everything about veggies === jbailey scrolls back a bit. [05:27] The only mellon I like is watermellon. I chould ask Angie about a 'cheesy mellon' when she's back. [05:27] Or are you just looking for fun suggestions of 'adjective vegetable'? [05:29] The more I dig through Xu's initrd-tools stuff, the more I think that he wished he could do it in perl instead. [05:38] jbailey: just check the last 2.6.10 changelogs and you can get an idea [05:43] perky pear [05:45] If fruits are allowed, the deadly dragonfruit. =) [05:46] jbailey: something more positive about it? ;) [05:46] zul: we have a scheduled released called perky psomething [05:47] bleah [05:47] but yes.. fruits are allowed too [05:47] sorry just in a bad mood [05:47] zul: don't worry dude...
