[02:23] I'm using Mozilla 1.0.6 thanx [02:23] oh, that's Rosetta [02:30] Marky: wht are you entering in the text box? [02:31] you need to enter part of somebody's name [02:31] then it searches [02:31] yeah, i've entered the name [02:31] it shoudl tell you if it finds no matches, but at the moment it just looks like nothing happens [02:31] file a bug, assign to stuart bishop [02:31] so.. should i wait .. ? [02:32] well.. this is odd.. [02:33] i've searched for someone name Tedi Heriyanto [02:33] He's translated some package, but when i'm searching his name to add him.. [02:34] the Launchpad found nothing [02:54] Marky: try contacting him directly, ask him to register in launchpad [03:17] hi, how can i start translating a program(gnomemeeting) to georgian language ? in "Programs you can translate" i see only some applications gaim xmms etc. [03:41] sd-tux: are you a member of the Ubuntu Georgian team? [03:42] would you like to be? have you any experience translating PO files? [03:43] and what's your launchpad name? [03:45] sabdfl: my launhpad name is "Alexander Didebulidze" I don't have experience in translating .po files [03:46] sd-tux: and I'm notmember of Ubuntu team yet [03:47] sabdfl: and I'm notmember of Ubuntu team yet.. [03:48] sd-tux: i'm happy to add you as the first translator [03:48] it would be good if you could start trying to find other guys who would join a team [03:48] when you find someone else, create a launchpad team, and add yourself and them to the team [03:48] then we'll make the team the translator instead of you personally [03:48] make sense [03:48] ? [03:49] sabdfl: actualy i just want to translate some gnome apps.. I helped a bit in translating Gaim using Rosetta.. [03:50] i've added you as a designated Georgian translator for ubuntu [03:50] so now you can translate anything there [03:50] https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/breezy/+translations [03:50] sabdfl: we are 2 persons now.. "Alexander Didebulidze" and "Vladimir Sichinava" [03:50] ok [03:51] create a team called "Ubuntu Georgian Translators" with name ubuntu-l10n-ka [03:51] put vladimir in there, and yourself too [03:51] then ping me [03:52] ok [04:01] sabdfl: do i have a permission to change the name of georgian translator from "Alexander Didebulidze" to "Ubuntu Georgian Translators" ? I'm getting " Sorry, you don't have permission to access this page." [04:01] sabdfl: on this page : https://launchpad.net/rosetta/groups/ubuntu-translators/ [04:14] sd-tux: have you created the team? [04:14] what'sthe team name? [04:15] sabdfl: i can't find a place from wich i can create a team ... [04:18] sabdfl: ok i found it.. === Lovechild [n=dnielsen@0x50c71cc7.adsl-fixed.tele.dk] has joined #launchpad [04:44] sabdfl: ok I have created a team an i'd like to know how to add a package for translation in Rosetta [05:03] sd-tux: done [05:03] 44466644466582 [05:03] oop- [05:03] you can now automatically translate any package in ubuntu [05:03] ddaa: hello :-) [05:04] hello [05:12] sabdfl: how can i tell rosetta how plural forms work for Georgian.. [05:12] sd-tux: do you know what a georgian pluralform expression looks like? [05:13] sabdfl: I think i know... I'm georgian and other members too :) [05:14] yes, but in PO file translation, there's a bit of magic that describes how plural forms work in that language [05:14] usually it's pretty simple - any message that has a variable number of "things" has two forms - one singular, one plural [05:14] but some languages are a lot more complicated [05:15] welsh, for example, has many, many plural forms [05:15] depending on whether there are 0, 1, 2, 3, 7 or more, 10 or more... etc [05:15] for example, the message "there are %s cars on the road" [05:15] how many different sentences would you need to translate that, depending on the number of s? [05:16] in georgian? [05:16] in english, it's two [05:16] "there are X cars on the road" [05:16] "there is X car on the road" [05:16] for example we have no articles, no capital letters, no masculine or feminile articles. [05:16] but we have 7 cases. [05:16] sounds good [05:16] cases are not usually a problem [05:17] is it slavic? similar to russian? [05:17] so [05:17] georgian is not indoeropian language [05:18] georgian is a Kartvelic Caucasian Language. [05:20] a Language is with proper alphabet and with a propher language. [05:20] in this team we understand quite good english, and good german italian and russian language. [05:21] for example with plural nouns; [05:22] there are X cars on the road= "kuchashi X manka-nebia" (I'm using latin letters :D) and... [05:22] "there is X car on the road" - "kuchashi X mank-anaa". [05:23] "sufix" is changed. [05:27] so plurals in georgian are: [05:27] 1 car = 1 mankana [05:27] 2 cars = 2 mankana [05:28] many cars = bevri mankana [05:28] so noun mankana is not changed. [05:29] but without without "many" a noun mankana will change into "mankanebi". [05:29] so what can do? [05:30] ok, this looks fairly standard [05:30] email this conversation to the rosetta-users list and ask carlos to add Georgian === rbelem [n=rodrigo@200217143129.user.veloxzone.com.br] has joined #launchpad === Burgundavia [n=corey@S0106000000cc07fc.gv.shawcable.net] has joined #launchpad === robitaille [n=daniel@d154-5-117-228.bchsia.telus.net] has joined #launchpad === Mez [n=Mez@cpc3-lich4-3-0-cust227.brhm.cable.ntl.com] has joined #launchpad === SnakeBite [n=SnakeBit@84.242.143.64] has joined #launchpad === SnakeBite [n=SnakeBit@84.242.143.64] has joined #launchpad === camilotelles [n=Camilo@200165215194.user.veloxzone.com.br] has joined #launchpad === mdke [n=matt@unaffiliated/mdke] has joined #launchpad [11:28] hi all [11:28] is everything imported into breezy in rosetta now? === nakeee [n=nakee@barak013-104-248.dialin.huji.ac.il] has left #launchpad ["Client]
