[11:08] no, but I finally got my webcam working in kopete [11:09] eddrex: apt-get update && apt-get upgrade [11:09] Tm_T: really?? msn? is it compiled into the 3.5b1 package? [11:09] eddrex: dunno [11:09] eddrex: I use svn ;) [11:10] Tm_T: tried. I removed the extra repos, removed everything in the kde cat, reinstalled with the stock breezy packages, still no kde! [11:11] is there a more correct way to "roll back" extra repositories? like, "remove all packages which aren't available from a repos anymore"? [11:12] dunno [11:14] Tm_T: do you perhaps have a dvdrw? [11:53] i says this in konsol [11:53] and i run americas army [11:53] and its quite choppy [11:53] should run better [11:53] has it to do with the Xlib is missing ? [11:53] Xlib: extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0". in root or sudo commands? [11:54] just in console when i minimize the game [11:54] im of to change resolution ingame. and it takes me to konsole [11:54] and it says that [11:54] have you activated transludency and shadows -> composite options in xorg.conf? [11:54] not what i know of [11:55] default values [11:55] so no [11:55] havent activated that [11:56] does anyone use AMD64 version? [11:56] what to type for reconfiguring the glx thingy? [11:56] i do [11:56] yes [11:57] flash will work only under a chroot type thing [11:57] do you use firtefox? [11:57] i use it all [11:57] btw, earlier when i typed glxgears i could see a value in console of fps... [11:57] how can I get it to work [11:57] now i never gets any [11:57] so i did a chroot and installed firefox for 32bit and flash and then it worked [11:57] and the gears doesnt go in crazy speed sort of speak [11:57] i found a good howto in the ubuntu forums [11:58] but quake3 runs good [11:58] libben: Thats odd, does glxgears not get any fps, or just very few? [11:58] I will look for it too thanks [11:58] libben, looks like it's a problem with AA [11:58] I just looked on google [11:58] java worked fine in 64bit [11:59] i just got the original from sun microsystems [11:59] libben *apparently* the message says a graphic extension OR library OR soft is missing in your PC, i checked my apt-cache nothings results so maybe on the AA's site u could find it [11:59] and installed it myself === kahing [n=kahing@hnllhi1-ar8-4-11-074-114.dsl-verizon.net] has joined #kubuntu === kahing is now known as Linux4ever [11:59] which java plugin? [12:00] xlibs - X Window System client library transitional package [12:00] i think it was like this: i had to install all of java and inside one of the files was the plugin for mozilla firefox [12:00] that i found in my apt-cache search [12:00] they dont have a plugin for firefox [12:00] i moved that file into the firefox 32bit version plugin directory [12:00] if you use AMD64 versin [12:00] I see [12:01] libben, have you upgraded xorg since you installed your graphics drivers? [12:01] using the chroot 32bit version you can make it work [12:01] one day 64 bit ubuntu will be perfect when they figure out how to do the 32/64 compatibility layer like suse does ;)
