chaoticgeekyes but its confusing trying to take each person at the same time05:37
LeeJunFanokay, in fstab you'll want to put something like this:05:37
neurondevWhat do I do when I get this error: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory05:37
LeeJunFan //dev/hda1       /media/hda1     vfat    defaults,uid=[your username]         0       005:38
chaoticgeekok well its already in fstab so I can just change it05:39
LeeJunFanone slash in front : /dev/hda1       /media/hda1     vfat    defaults,uid=[your username]         0       005:39
LeeJunFanchaoticgeek: lets see that line from your fstab.05:39
chaoticgeekthe only thing thats not the same is the uid={nugget}05:39
chaoticgeekhere it is/dev/hda2       /datadrop       vfat    defaults        0       005:39
chaoticgeekso just add the uid=[nugget] 05:40
LeeJunFanokay, if you add the uid=nugget that will make you the owner when you mount it.05:40
LeeJunFanthat should do it.05:40
chaoticgeekok05:40
LeeJunFanchaoticgeek: of course 'mount -o remount /dev/hda2' after05:40
chaoticgeekthanks05:41
LeeJunFanchaoticgeek: np, now if you do 'ls -ld /datadrop' you should see that the dir is owned by nugget.05:41

chaoticgeek/dev/hda2       /datadrop       vfat    defaults,uid=[nugget]         0       005:43

psykebuz: I've searched through the forums, and tried some proposed solutions to no avail, and yes, I've tried ubuntu.. you know what's weird? GNOME is more sluggish than KDE (in Kubuntu)...05:06
buzsounds like a driver issue05:07
psykebut KDE in Kubuntu is still significantly slower compared to KDE in other distros05:07

psykebuz: SUSE recognised my graphics hardware better, for example it knew the exact monitor name and configuration, so I'm reinstalling Kubuntu, and I'm going to try the xorg-config from SUSE on it05:07
