[01:19] what's the module name? I don't see anything with misdn in the filename [01:21] BenC: hmm, maybe needs a patch again, will have to investigate, I did take patches from ftp.isdn4linux.de [01:24] downloading misdn CVS snapshot [01:25] I'll see if I can get it in for -8.10 === mdke [n=matt@ubuntu/member/mdke] has joined #ubuntu-kernel [03:11] dapper looks like it's working, but in tty1 I am getting constant errors from ata2 like this: http://pastebin.com/457952 [03:11] is this worth filing a bug, or are you guys aware of it? [03:17] BenC: The asm link for ppc in linux-headers-2.6.15-7 points to the new asm-ppc. I'm not sure that's the best thing atm, since it's missing asm/posix-types.h then. [03:19] Mm. [03:19] posix_types.h === ubuntulog [n=ubuntulo@port49.ds1-van.adsl.cybercity.dk] has joined #ubuntu-kernel === Topic for #ubuntu-kernel: Ubuntu kernel development discussion ONLY | New git tree for dapper: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelGitGuide | 2.6.15-7.9 uploaded (The "My momma made me do it" release) === Topic (#ubuntu-kernel): set by BenC at Tue Dec 6 17:53:57 2005 === #ubuntu-kernel [freenode-info] If you're at a conference, please contact freenode staff to make sure we've made special allowance for many users coming into our network from a single internet address ( http://freenode.net/faq.shtml#gettinghelp ). [04:05] Are you plannign an upload soonish? If not, I can do the upload on Sunday or so against 2.6.12, still. === TheMuso [n=luke@dsl-202-173-132-131.nsw.westnet.com.au] has joined #ubuntu-kernel [05:37] was planning on one for Monday [06:18] just a heads up in case anyone is interested, openSUSE 10.1 (as broken as it is) does install on my qosimio g25 laptop [06:18] this is the only distro that has been able to detect the hard drives in this laptop [06:18] morning [06:18] morning fabione [06:19] hows it goig? [06:19] time to pilfer their patches ;) [06:19] :) [06:19] hmm just woke up [06:19] they currently use 2.6.14, but there must be something there we could use [06:20] although, since there has not been a working dapper cd with our 2.6.15 kernel, i have not been able to even try it yet :( [06:21] mgalvin: there will be soon or you could try the daily build of the installer [06:21] is that i386? [06:21] or amd64? [06:21] i have tried every day for the past 2 weeks :-/ [06:21] i386 [06:21] none have worked [06:21] sec [06:25] hm no [06:25] i had a special built d-i, but it has a preseed file that would kill net and other bits [06:25] anyway Flight 2 CD will be out soon enough [06:26] yea, i am anxiously awaiting it, it would rock so much to get ubuntu working on my laptop, i would be so happy :) [06:27] http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/dapper/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/ [06:27] there is a mini.iso [06:27] try that one [06:27] it's a network install [06:27] meaning it will download debs from the net [06:27] but assuming you are going to download the CD, you have enough bw to try it [06:28] yea, i know, i will try it out now, and let you know how it goes [06:28] i have cable here at home so i have a good amount of bw [06:29] fabbione: thnx for the link, downloading now :) [06:29] no problem [07:05] a medium woo hoo (for now ;)), i will half (well maybe 3/4) rejoice, it does see the drives so i am VERY happy about that, i manually partitioned them and the packages are still installing... [07:06] there was a debconf error during stage 1, i missed what it was for though :(... [07:07] after reboot, into stage 2, the nic did not not get an IP and that caused the installer to error, but i switched over to vt2 logged in, sudo dhclient, made d-i start over.... [07:07] and it is happily d/l'ing the packages now :) [07:09] so it seems to be mostly working with 20 - 30 min left of downloading/installing [07:10] mgalvin: yes, there are still bits falling apart in the new world.. [07:11] yea, i know, you guys already know the problems so i will not waste your time repeating them, but the fact that it sees the drives, oh man, that rocks!!! [07:12] you guys rock, thnx for all the excellent work you are all doing :) [07:42] almost 2am here, good night all, later === JaneW [n=JaneW@dsl-146-129-50.telkomadsl.co.za] has joined #ubuntu-kernel === trevilor [n=gnu@p549CCA9C.dip.t-dialin.net] has joined #ubuntu-kernel [01:11] dapper looks like it's working, but in tty1 I am getting constant errors from ata2 like this: http://pastebin.com/457952 [01:11] is this worth filing a bug, or are you guys aware of it? === TheMuso [n=luke@dsl-202-173-132-131.nsw.westnet.com.au] has joined #ubuntu-kernel [02:43] mdke: When in doubt, file a bug.
