Snake|SleepThank you.06:17
RatAny of you guys know if that is possible?06:17

stonedbasically partitions = lin/lin/lin/win/free space.  you have to make it lin/lin/lin/win-freespace ('-'=logical parition, '/'=primary parition06:21
Ratthat is going to be a pain in the butt06:22
stonedyou can't do that now because windows already exists in that 4th partition, taking up all the space.  during installation of windows, you could have done this because then windows will create a primary parition, then create logical paritions in there, and then install windows in one of them, you can't have primary parition taking some space, then some also out of it for logical partitions06:23
stonedits not that complicated if you read up on it06:23

samourahello i have a Kubuntu 6.04 "Dapper Drake" - Alpha i386 and how do i open it ;( i have tryed to reboot nothing happins02:05
Tonio_samoura: is it an iso file you downloaded ?02:06
samourai don think so but it is 643 mb the size and i burned on a cd and traying if i can run it ;(02:07
Tonio_samoura: you mustn't burn the file02:08
Tonio_but burn it as an iso image02:08
Tonio_to get a bootable cd02:08
Tonio_anyway, I would suggest you not to test dapper actually02:08
Tonio_is it not stable02:09
Tonio_and my feeling is that if you don't know what is an iso, you shouldn't test dapper until official release02:09
Tonio_cause you might meet many problems whose resolution is quite complicated02:09
samoura:P i know what is iso :P02:09
Tonio_samoura: so what's the problem ,02:10

hatake_kakashiyours would probably be /dev/sda1 on /media/sda104:08
hatake_kakashiif its /media/sda1, type the words '/media/sda1' into the address bar of konqueror (without quotes) and hit enter04:08
hatake_kakashiotherwise if its mounted in other ways or have different destination mount point, replace /media/sda1 with the appropriate one04:09

Jolttyping the words '/media/sda1' into the address bar worked :)04:11
JoltWhy does it not recognise it then?04:11
JoltOr should I say, why can't it open it when it's plugged in first04:12
hatake_kakashi"unable to find media/:sda1" <---- that address inside the address bar does not seem correct04:12
hatake_kakashianything before the : makes konqueror thinks of it as a protocol04:12
hatake_kakashieg. smb:/, http:/, ftp:/04:13
Joltis there a way to get rid of it?04:13

JoltBut the drivers are for Windows only04:14
hatake_kakashiyou meant USB wifi?04:14
hatake_kakashiyou could probably get them to work via ndiswrapper04:14

ubotundiswrapper is, like, totally, a way to support Windows wireless drivers, but it is buggy compared to native support. More info at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HowToSetUpNdiswrapper04:15
hatake_kakashithat may help04:15
hatake_kakashiif not, then I don't know much, I don't use wifi so..04:15

brendan_the reason they don't have that set by default is that if you use sudo, you type your own password, not the root password08:32
brendan_so there's some level of advantage with not having to type the root password, or even know the root password, especially on multi-user systems08:33
