ArthurBnow for wifi, is there something that I can use instead of iwconfig + dhclient ?02:05
LeeJunFanryanakca: /var/log/apache2 and mysql doesn't normally log unless you specify in /etc/init.d/mysql02:05
LeeJunFanArthurB: kwifimanager02:06
ArthurBTried it.02:06
LeeJunFanArthurB: or set your /etc/network/interfaces file so it comes up configed already.02:06
ryanakcaLeeJunFan: then what would log to syslog if it's port was scanned?02:06
ryanakcaLeeJunFan: I'm trying to test this: http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=2686702:07
ArthurBHow do you scan for access point when in managed mode with KWifimanage02:07
LeeJunFanArthurB: man interfaces will tell you everything you need for that, it doesn't mention wireless- stuff though, interfaces can use anything iwconfig can you just have to prepend wireless- to it, ie wireless-essid linksys02:07
LeeJunFanArthurB: to be honest I never used it. I'm a cmdline junky for most things.02:07
LeeJunFanryanakca: maybe you are supposed to use portsentry or snort with it? Those will show scans, and snort will show much much more.02:09
ArthurBLeeJunFan: me too, but I need to show people how "easy" it is :)02:10

Teasterday, I was at my school and connected my laptop (running breezy) to their network and configured synaptic to use their proxy (since I don't know how to configure network settings for apt via konsole).
