[01:45] hey [01:46] andreasn: how goes it? [01:47] fixing bugs in tangerine [01:48] ehh... bugs like in software? or aligning vectors to a pixel grid and stuff like that? [01:50] https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/tangerine-icon-theme/+bugs [01:50] all kinds of stuff [01:56] what are you up to then? [01:58] well... I actually joined this channel to make socials :) I'm currently working in Dropline Neu icon set... making a huge update (kind of a major re design) :) [01:59] I like hearing about ubuntu's art development :) [02:00] dropline neu? is there a url where I can see it+ [02:00] ? [02:00] sure, at my site: http://www.silvestre.com.ar/ [02:01] use this one to filter only icons: http://www.silvestre.com.ar/?cat=2 [02:02] as you can see I've been quite inspired by Tango lately :P [02:08] wow, cool stuff === andreasn bookmarks [02:09] :) thanks andreasn [02:13] whups, time for bed [02:13] come and say hi in #tango some day [02:13] nite andreasn :) [02:13] night [02:13] sure thing :) === AndyFitz [n=andy@cust1772.qld01.dataco.com.au] has joined #ubuntu-artwork [02:15] hey AndyFitz :) [02:16] heya ertz [02:16] how's it going? [02:18] great, you hear rsvg now supports external styles and relative linked !entities ? [02:19] nope, I haven't... I've been quite disconnected from mailing lists and stuff like that :) [02:19] I'm a bad icon "developer" :p [02:21] lol its okay, only recent news and only exciting to geeks who have wanted it for years now [02:22] in the past year, rsvg has changed its meaning from 'ruthless scalable vector graphics . to 'rocking SVG' [02:23] hehe... I guess it is exciting... problem is I don't even know what those features are... :\ === ertz is a bad, bad icon developer :P [02:25] means we can do stuff like tis http://andy.brisgeek.com/files/screen.png at different sizes and different styles all from the one svg illustration [02:26] http://andy.brisgeek.com/files/duck.png and so on ... [02:26] wow... that sure is something to be excited about... :D [02:26] i'm getting excited myself :P [02:27] id only just figured out I could get that functionality happening with entities , but they had to have fixed paths, meaing making different sized 1px outline icons was an issue [02:27] now we can do it all [02:27] master gradient definitions, filters and cc data is held in external files and linked in on execution of the svg ;-) [02:28] as well as those external stylesheets [02:28] http://andy.brisgeek.com/files/css.css = tango in css [02:28] that's just awesome :) [02:29] I'll have to redisign everything! [02:29] ahaha [02:31] well... I have to go now... but will certainly be back later :) [02:31] no worries mate. have a good time [02:31] thanks... :) [02:31] you too === ertz [n=silvestr@eitan.laplata.sinectis.com.ar] has joined #ubuntu-artwork [03:20] back again :p [03:20] AndyFitz: you seem to be the right one to ask... do you know of a way to resize a SVG up to 128x128? maybe using ImageMagick or something? [03:23] lol you can't do it with imagemagick, [03:24] you can export the svg as a png from inkscape at 128x128 or within inkscape you can change the document size, group all shapes and apply a transform matrix [03:24] hehe... i thought it could handle some SVG stuff :P [03:25] yeah, I supposed I was going to have to do it manually... I was hoping to write some script to save my life or something :P [03:25] you can with scripts [03:25] rsvg -w 128 -h 128 ? [03:25] its tricky for me but very possile with a perl script [03:25] or something like that? [03:26] not rsvg, that won't give you an svg file [03:26] it will display it at that for you tho [03:26] nono... actually I want the PNG only :p [03:26] oh then rsvg or inkscape can do that easy peast [03:26] easy as anything [03:26] i was thinking about first resizing the SVG... [03:26] but i think rsvg can do the job then :) [03:27] I usually do all this stuff manually... but i've been getting lazy these days [03:27] inkscape --export-png=filename.png --export-width=128 --export-height=128 [03:28] oh wait [03:28] and where should I enter the input file? [03:28] you need --file=filename.svg [03:28] ahhh [03:28] :D [03:28] thanks a lot Andy :) [03:28] you've been like an open book for me today :D [03:28] -z to make sure you don't get a gui tho I don't think you need it if issuing from cli [03:28] is good to have people like you arround :p [03:30] :D rsvg -h 128 -w 128 .svg .png also works like a charm [03:33] cool [03:33] rsvg is a great :) dom is a champ... [03:34] batik is the best but only runs on non free java [03:34] and inkscape is the best illustration program of all time naturally ;-) [03:34] I have to agree with that :) [03:35] at least is the best for icons :) [03:36] oh... I've been wondering some time ago... what ever happened with Etiquette? did you released something not so long ago? [03:36] maybe I've been looking in the wrong place... [03:38] some stuff got release a while ago. but I'm as unorganised as anything. now that my long awaited external styles have been implemented you can expect something soon ( like a month or two ) [03:38] one month I reckon but two incase I'm dodgy like always [03:39] anyway its alll just play ;-) [03:40] I gotta rock off [03:40] good to hear that :) ... [03:40] Ok :) [03:40] buddah fesitval all this week finishing next weekend :) [03:40] is that some sort of rave? [03:41] no its buddah's birthday [03:41] I think [03:41] I'm going down to see what all the fuss is about ;-) [03:41] hehe... [10:07] did a disk-admin icon today, hope to have the whole System > Administration in the right style soon [10:08] nice :) [10:13] have you done any nice app-icons in tango-style? [10:13] would be nice to have them in tangerine [10:13] come join the fun in #tango btw [10:14] well, "Yasis" is kinda like tango... I would only need to use Tango's color pallete to adapt some of them :) [10:18] didn't you do another theme aswell? [10:19] I made: Dropline Neu, Dropline Nuovo, Yasis and Gion... [10:19] Gion is nice [10:20] I also did an Etiquette mod... :) but that's mostly Andy's work [10:20] Thanks :) [10:20] Gion is the most polished I'd say..... === ertz [n=silvestr@amiel.laplata.sinectis.com.ar] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === reverb_ [n=reverb@c80-217-248-53.cm-upc.chello.se] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === reverb_ is now known as reverb
