Flannelhey guys, I'm having problems moving courier(imap)'s mail folder from ~/Maildir to ~/.maildir, Ive switched the paths in /etc/imapd and -ssl, and reloaded them both with the initd script, anywhere else I need to be looking?  my imap clients still look at the old directory.01:55
neuralisFlannel: please see the topic. this is a development channel; for support, see #ubuntu.02:57
Flannelhmm, when did that change?02:59
neuralisthat's how it was meant to be since the beginning02:59
Flannelright, well, a year ago it was support, or at least claimed to be in the topic. anyway.03:00
FlannelI'll then ask why ubuntu's mail utilities use ~/Maildir/ as their default mail paths.03:00
Flannelsince, it seems like a bug-type thing.03:00
neuralisit's probably inherited from debian.03:01
Flannelright, except the choice was made to change a few years ago : https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MailStorageStandardisation03:02
Flannelso, I don't know if it's just that they've been overlooked, or...03:02
neuralisthat seems to be an unofficial, non-spec writeup.03:03
Flannelfair enough.  I hate that fact about the wiki.03:05
neuraliswell, Blueprint is pretty good these days; if you're looking for official specs, look there.03:06
Flannelis that at launchpad? or..03:07
neuralisyeah.03:07
Flannelthanks, Ill check it out03:09
Flanneland, both chanserv, and the wiki, list this channel as support.  so, you'll want to fix that sooner or later.03:12
Flannelanyway, thanks for your time.03:12
neuralissure.03:12
PlugWith respect to the topic, asking for any kind of server support in #ubuntu will get lost in "how do I get wobbly windows and make wireless go"03:16
neuralisthat's probably true.03:18
neuralisbut we don't have the manpower to make this into any kind of a proper support channel.03:19

J_PAnyone here use or did use OpenMosix on Ubuntu for setup cluster ?09:10
J_PI need setup one cluster with 15 machines, I am using actually debian, but I am like use software more newly, so I think in use ubuntu for this, anyone haz experience with this ?09:11
neuralisopenmosix requires a 2.4 kernel. ubuntu+2.4 can be tricky -- i wouldn't recommend trying it unless you really know what you're doing.09:16

J_Pneuralis: you don't recommend use ubuntu as cluster or what ?11:37
neuralisJ_P: no, i'm just telling you that it's not a task for someone who's not experienced.11:44
infinityJ_P: Note that as of edgy, we don't intend to support kernel 2.4 on any arch in glibs.11:45
infinityglic, even.11:45
infinityWe already only support it on i386 at this point.  The rest are 2.6-only.11:45
infinityArgh.  G-L-I-B-C.  Stupid fingers.11:45
neuralisinfinity: seriously. it's 2006, you'd think we'd be able to jack a firewire cable into the back of our necks already.11:46
ivoksopenmoxis has 2.6 version11:47
ivoksand very very slow development11:47
neuralisivoks: it's (pre)alpha.11:47
ivoksit's good tool, but they need to catch up11:47
ivoksneuralis: i know, i tried to use it11:48
ivoksi have 60 node openmosix cluster11:48
ivoksand i'm planing a switch to something else11:48
neuralisivoks: yeah, we had that conversation11:48
ivoksivan :)11:48
