yuriyi've mentioned before that krfb doesn't work very well when connecting to it through a vnc client other than krdc, but i'm using it now with krdc now and it works quite well. so it is in fact good software for connecting two kubuntu machines, just doesnt work as well if you want to access it from winxp or sthing else.  just wanted to clarify.05:30

marseillaiis this bug an ubuntu bug or a kde bug ? https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/klaptopdaemon/+bug/3278512:30
UbugtuMalone bug 32785 in kdeutils "klaptop crashes when trying to suspend" [Normal,Unconfirmed]  12:30
richipsI mean doing your own research is so common....12:33
\shmarseillai: did you ever tried to start /etc/acpi/sleep.sh without klaptopdaemon running?12:33
hunger\sh: I think the proper way to test is "pmi action sleep".12:34
\shhunger: well...the problem is, that klaptopdaemon or g-p-m are handling the policies and sleep.sh is exiting. to test if sleep is not working because of klaptopdaemon or if it's a global kernel bug or something else, check the script if it runs, klaptopdaemon is broken, if not, we need to find the problem somewhere else12:35
\shbut klaptopdaemon and g-p-d need to be stopped to let the script handle the sleep mechanism12:36
marseillai\sh: yes and it works and with gnome it works. so it's a klaptopdaemon bug. but I would like to know if it's only a kde or a kubuntu bug ?12:37

neoncodeWhere are they?11:31
Seveas@config channel plugins.bugtracker.bugsnarfer True11:32
kwwiibtw...the display system went back with the canonical stand, so if we need it at any event they will send it directly there11:33
Riddellkwwii: yeah, I should have taken it but didn't have time11:33
Riddellneoncode: Englandshire11:33
\shkwwii: you mean the posters?11:33
neoncodeOh if I want to get involved with the ubuntu project don't I need to get a GPG key or something?11:34
kwwii\sh: yes11:34
kwwii\sh: when they cost more than 175 a piece they are called "display systems"11:34
\shkwwii: lol11:34
kwwiiwell, suse paid 1,150 a piece for theirs and they are pretty much exactly what we have, so I think I should charge canonical a bit more :-)11:36
kwwiitoo late for that I guess  ;-)11:36

neoncodeThanks guys/girls11:48
kmonyou can help without having the gpg thing. It's called sponsored uploads. A dev checks your packages, and if it's fine they upload it11:49

Lurebut you actually login with your e-mail address11:52
marseillaiis there anywhere a starter guide for kubuntu dapper telling things like changing sources.list, upgrading, installing libdvdcss, ??? i'm creating one for french wiki and i would like to find some experience11:53
neoncodeOk... I have a launchpad account apparently...11:55
neoncodeHow do I do the wiki?11:55
neoncodeoh Riddell, seeing as you live in the UK. I have a question for you. Is libdvdcss legal in the UK?11:56
jjessemarseillai: the closest thing to that would be the desktop guide which ships with dapper, you can check it out on doc.ubuntu.com11:56
Lureneoncode: go to wiki.ubuntu.com and login with your launchpad account11:57
Lureneoncode: then create you homepage or any other page 11:57
Lureneoncode: home pages are tipically in format "FirstnameLastname"11:58
Lureneoncode: and If you add "CategoryHomepage" at the end of page, it will be listed in this index: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CategoryHomepage11:59
marseillaijjesse: thanks exactly what i was looking for!11:59
