urashimahi all, i have a question...is secure to update from breezy to dapper now? I mean, I had a lot of problems with development version and I'm afraid of them to appear on an update12:07
DaSkreechurashima: Short answer is no12:09
DaSkreechurashima: What are you using your computer for?12:09
urashimajust for everything, that's why I'm asking12:10
DaSkreechurashima: If you have doubts then wait the two weeks ;)12:10
urashimajust as I thought :D12:11
urashimathank you for the help :)12:11

DaSkreechurashima: I know people who wait till it's out for a few weeks just to make sure :)12:13
DaSkreechPeople like me are refreshing the server for dapper+1 as soon as the dapper CD stops burning.12:14
urashimasounds hard working12:15
EvilIdlerI've got Dapper on my LAN fileserver here, and the only problem is Jabber randomly crashing. It could be memory. but it's ONLY that program :/12:15
urashimaI mainly had problems with apt-get package dependencies12:16
EvilIdlerI downloaded an image, installed, had no other problems, so I'm not even updating unless a jabber package shows up :)12:16
DaSkreechurashima: lol12:17
DaSkreechurashima: You did a partial upgrade to dapper?12:17
urashimano, I downloaded a flight cd some time ago12:17
urashimai did a fresh installation12:17
DaSkreechand you had package dependencies?12:18
urashimawell, when I tried to install some packages, apt-get returned this type of error12:18
DaSkreechurashima: Did you try to sudo apt-get dist-upgrade?12:19
DaSkreechthat normally fixes that problem12:19
urashimammmmm....I can't remember well....so, there's no problem with packages at all? maybe I didn't try dapper sufficient time :P12:20

h3sp4wnfreddirkse: what is the problem ?01:04
freddirksekubuntu 5.10., amd64-x2.  system is set to UTC, /etc/timezone to America/Chicago.  If I set my clock to show Local Time, it shows UTC....this seems to be causing issues w/ Kontact and some other apps also01:05

EvilIdlerSo kubuntu-desktop is all of KDE and other neat stuff related to Kubuntu. ubuntu-desktop is Gnome and possibly more01:07

freddirkseoffset is -6 I believe01:07
freddirksebios clock is set to my local time01:07

joelwell... yeah.05:37
poimenEvilidler I will do that that is easy05:37
Snake__joel: so slipstreaming is generally worthless. Also you IF you built your own packages (say for... lyriclib1.4.deb and amarok1.4beta.deb) then just burn the debs along with the disk. Once your system is running "sudo dpkg -i all.deb your.deb debs.deb get.deb listed.deb here.deb" bam, instant upgrade.05:37
ahmenithere's a better way to do it with find05:37
