=== kwwii [n=kwwii@likes.smoking.more.than.watching.spacenight.dk] has joined #ubuntu-artwork [01:10] evening [01:12] hello [01:12] hi jak08 [01:12] not many people here tonight [01:12] is there ever? [01:12] the weekend drove away the thoughts of the usplash [01:13] oh, last week around this time it was banging [01:13] well, maybe a few days ago, not last week [01:14] I don't pay enough attention to this one as I should, because most of the time it is dead scielnt [01:15] so is that the main concern with the release so near? [01:15] well, I am kinda new to this forum, but it seems so [01:16] that and the icons [01:16] how orange they should be :-) [01:16] well, i think the icons always are [01:16] yep [01:16] as a kde-oriented person it is kinda interesting for me [01:16] I think I have formed a clear distinction between gnome and kde art [01:17] on a techinical level, I mean [01:17] erm, technical [01:17] I give up spelling for tonight [01:17] too late here [01:18] really what time is that? [01:18] 1:18 [01:18] germany [01:20] wow thats cool, so I have noticed that a lot of the opensource stuff comes out of germany why is that do you think? [01:21] well, I guess because the desktop movement for linux was kinda born in germany [01:22] I myself am American [01:22] I just live here [01:22] :-) [01:22] ahh, [01:22] I wish I could live in Japan, I love that country [01:23] :-) [01:23] can you speak japanese? [01:24] only very little, and by that I mean very little, But I have been tring to teach myself [01:25] when I was at college I took 5 years of chinese [01:25] but I cannot speak much anymore [01:26] move to a country and speak the language every day, then you will learn it [01:26] ahh, I bet that was fun all what is it like 3,000 characters or is it a lot more? [01:26] i think it takes 6 months for that [01:26] it is incredibly hard to speak, and really being able to write what you think is almost impossible [01:28] oh i can imagine, it seems that the asian languages are a lot more difficult than the european ones, i wonder why the evolved that way [01:29] there are studies on how the physical form of the mouth and such can speak languages [01:29] it is quite interesting [01:30] yea i know that the asian languages use a few different sounds that are pressent in english [01:30] I have done a little of the study on linguistics but not much [01:30] german seems to be one of the languages which encompasses most of the sounds made by the human mouth [01:30] french is one of the worse one [01:30] ones [01:31] 59 different sounds, i actually have the chart right by me [01:32] hehe :-) [01:33] i have even started making one of my own languages, named hippicus, i can't seem to remember where i put my binder containing the information on it so i can't really give you much of an example because i haven't worked on it on a couple of months and have forgotten it [01:35] so . . . [01:35] hehe [01:36] time for me to hit the hay [01:36] 1:35 [01:36] ok bye [01:36] see you :-) === kwwii [n=kwwii@likes.smoking.more.than.watching.spacenight.dk] has left #ubuntu-artwork ["Konversation] === mgalvin [n=mgalvin@ubuntu/member/mgalvin] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === jak08 [n=Shane@cras80p179.navix.net] has left #ubuntu-artwork [] === Madpilot [n=brian@ubuntu/member/madpilot] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === klepas [n=klepas@203-213-31-142.static.tpgi.com.au] has joined #ubuntu-artwork [08:06] klepas, where did the Ubuntu palette info you used come from? The stuff on the left of this: http://klepas.org/temp/ubuntu/ubuntu-doc-cover-front.png [08:08] Madpilot: i've had it for a while... i can't remember where i got it from... [08:08] Madpilot: actually, it might have been Andy Fitzsimon.. :) [08:08] thanks - I've had a good look around the wiki, can't find anything like it now. [08:09] yea [08:09] by the way, i have a horrible feeling i used Tango colours for that design [08:09] there's a link in one of the icon building pages that might be it, but it 404s... bleh [08:09] i can't quite recal [08:09] would you like the SVG of that palette? [08:09] ah. that might be why I can't quite match any of the Ubuntu palette colours to the tan you used [08:10] I've got the SVG off your site, actually [08:10] or does the palette image have more information on it? [08:10] i'm pretty horrible with usernames, Madpilot, you designed that other (awesome) cover, right? [08:11] that is the full palette there [08:11] the tan & orange one [08:11] yea... [08:11] I've been messing with my designs: latest Ubuntu DG cover idea: http://paste.ubuntu-nl.org/14326 === omeg [n=omega@s55933ad4.adsl.wanadoo.nl] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === AndyFitz [n=andy@cust1772.qld01.dataco.com.au] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === AndyFitz [n=andy@cust1772.qld01.dataco.com.au] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === nysosym [n=nysosym@p54B78FC6.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === andreasn [n=andreas@h8n3fls35o1104.telia.com] has joined #ubuntu-artwork [01:51] hi andreasn :) [01:51] hey nysosym === nysosym [n=nysosym@p54B78FC6.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === dborg [n=daniel@e182062054.adsl.alicedsl.de] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === dborg [n=daniel@e182062054.adsl.alicedsl.de] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === andreasn [n=andreas@h8n3fls35o1104.telia.com] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === nysosym [n=nysosym@p54B78FC6.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === mgalvin [n=mgalvin@ubuntu/member/mgalvin] has joined #ubuntu-artwork [08:27] brb === nysosym [n=nysosym@p54B78FC6.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === nysosym [n=nysosym@p54B78FC6.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === megabyte405 [n=megabyte@user-0cdvltn.cable.mindspring.com] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === marcin_ [n=marcin@194.114.146.58] has joined #ubuntu-artwork === andreasn [n=andreas@h8n3fls35o1104.telia.com] has joined #ubuntu-artwork
