crimsunhum.02:51
crimsunI'm pretty sure 6.06 LTS has udev 079, not 071 as stated at http://lkml.org/lkml/2006/7/31/7102:52

rodarvusinfinity, ping03:09
infinityrodarvus: If it's about LRM, that'll be first thing tomorrow, so in about 10 or 11 hours.03:22
infinityrodarvus: If it's not about LRM, then go ahead. :)03:23
rodarvushaha03:23
rodarvusI was going to ask about lrm :)03:23
rodarvusthanks!03:23
rodarvusinfinity, its the last package needed for an update on xorg-server03:24
rodarvus(adding Breaks: all-old-servers)03:24
rodarvuss/all-old-servers/all-old-drivers/03:25
jbaileyBreaks on a virtual package works?03:25
rodarvusjbailey, well, expand <all-old-drivers> :)03:25
jbaileyAh, I was hopeful for a moment. =)03:26

dokoBenC: ping06:19
BenCdoko: pong06:26
dokoBenC: what did happen to the idea of the amd64 kernel for i386?06:27
BenCdoko: I have one major reservation about it and that's the fact that usblp doesn't have 32-bit->64-bit ioctl thunking, so people who used the amd64 kernel with 32-bit userspace would suffer problems that might not get fixed, and they would end up going back to a 32-bit kernel anyway06:31
BenCIf I can get that fixed, then I'll probably create an amd64-generic for i38606:32
dokook, just wanted to know ...06:33
BenCnot only that, but then there's the whole issue of uname -m reporting x86_64, which will create all sorts of compile problems for those users06:33
infinitylinux32 uname -m06:33
infinityAKA, "that's their problem, they can sort it"06:34
BenCyeah, but try having to answer that 1 million times06:34
BenCactually, if we provide the kernel, it suddenly becomes our problem :)06:34
infinity*shrug*, we're providing it as a non-standard option.06:35
infinityAnd we don't guarantee that any sort of development stuff ever works out of the box without the user having a brain attached.06:36
