[09:22] New bug: #59683 in linux-restricted-modules-2.6.15 (restricted) "synaptic fails to check whether /boot is mounted" [Untriaged,Rejected] http://launchpad.net/bugs/59683 === fabbione [i=fabbione@gordian.fabbione.net] has joined #ubuntu-x === Starting logfile irclogs/ubuntu-x.log === ubuntulog [i=ubuntulo@ubuntu/bot/ubuntulog] has joined #ubuntu-x [10:21] New bug: #59867 in xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (main) "Synaptics touchpad ceases functioning after suspend and resume." [Untriaged,Unconfirmed] http://launchpad.net/bugs/59867 === rodarvus [n=rodarvus@ubuntu/member/rodarvus] has joined #ubuntu-x [01:37] rodarvus: are you handling the various "missing assert" symbol bugs? [01:40] I plan to deal with them, today [01:41] (but am still dealing with personal email from last Thursday on) [01:42] sure, understandably. Take care. [03:53] rodarvus: https://launchpad.net/bugs/59278 ; don't we have tight enough dependencies now? If not, it shouldn't be rejected.. [03:53] Malone bug 59278 in xorg-server "Edgy: X fails with "module requirement mismatch"" [Untriaged,Rejected] [03:56] Mithrandir, indeed, it shouldn't be rejected [03:56] care to take care of it? [03:56] I will, thanks [03:56] (we have enough dependencies, but we removed Breaks: due to apt not having implemented it yet) [03:58] we should probably readd conflicts or something, then [03:59] this is the plan, actually it was scheduled to be done last wednesday [03:59] (its the first packge fix on my schedule for today) [04:03] ok, don't mind me, then. :-) [04:06] New bug: #59911 in xorg-server "missing extension in Xnest" [Untriaged,Unconfirmed] http://launchpad.net/bugs/59911 [04:07] oh, this bug reminds me [04:08] xnest seems utterly broken now [04:08] did you upload, or do you plan to upload the new kdriver server soon? [04:08] : tfheen@thosu ~ > DISPLAY=:1 xterm [04:08] X Error of failed request: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 45 (X_OpenFont) Serial number of failed request: 71 Current serial number in output stream: 72 [04:08] already did so [04:08] nice, nice [04:09] about time to add an alias Xnest='echo use Xephyr dude' then :D [04:10] they're different apps and do different things, so no, not really. [04:11] Xephyr isn't an X proxy [04:17] oh, I was unaware of that [04:17] what an X proxy does specifically? (pardon my ignorance) [04:21] Xephyr has its own set of X extensions and stuff. Xnest doesn't (AIUI) [04:21] which means Xnest is useful for doing stuff like NX, while Xephyr isn't. [04:23] right. I thought Xephyr would implement the same extensions as Xorg by now (since they are even based on the same source code) [04:23] but yes, you make a good point [04:25] it means you can do extension development in Xephyr rather than your regular X Server [04:25] which can be a big win [04:45] New bug: #59916 in linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17 "Mouse-Positioning problem with Dual-Head" [Untriaged,Unconfirmed] http://launchpad.net/bugs/59916 === zul [n=chuck@ubuntu/member/zul] has joined #ubuntu-x === rodarvus [n=rodarvus@ubuntu/member/rodarvus] has joined #ubuntu-x === rodarvus [n=rodarvus@ubuntu/member/rodarvus] has joined #ubuntu-x === zul [n=chuck@CPE0006258ec6c1-CM000a73655d0e.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com] has joined #ubuntu-x === Labyrinth [n=Labyrint@pD9E4E123.dip.t-dialin.net] has joined #ubuntu-x === Labyrinth [n=Labyrint@pD9E4E123.dip.t-dialin.net] has left #ubuntu-x [] [11:50] New bug: #59964 in libxvmc "/usr/etc path bogosity" [Untriaged,Unconfirmed] http://launchpad.net/bugs/59964
