PingunZSeveas: I'm install usplash-dev I'm going to try making a theme :)08:36
PingunZWhere do I start ? Can I just modify some images ?08:36
SeveasPingunZ, I don't have time to guide you through it, read the documentation....08:37
PingunZOkey :)08:37
PingunZI understand ;)08:38
Seveaskwwii, ping09:13
kwwiiSeveas: pong09:18
Seveaskwwii, can imagemagick extract a palette from an image and apply it to another?09:19
kwwiiSeveas: I think so...try the -map and +map function of convert09:23
kwwiiso you want the -map function09:24
SeveasI want +map09:24
kwwiihehe09:24
Seveasthat's even better09:24
kwwiithat averges the colormaps09:24
kwwiithen it will look a bit betterif things are not perfect09:25
SeveasI want usplash-theme-creation to be easier09:26
Seveaswhat I did for ubuntu was tedious gimping09:26
kwwiihehe09:28
kwwiidid you have to play with the kubuntu pics? I hope not, I tried to make them correctly09:28
kwwiibut it is really easy to screw up09:29
kwwii:-)09:29
Seveasthe kubuntu pics were perfect09:29
kwwiiwhew!09:29
kwwiibtw. I made an ogg to kinda show what I thought about doing for an animation...09:33
kwwiihttp://bootsplash.org/kubundu1309-fjpg75.ogg  <-- it is really big and long now, but you get the idea09:34
Seveasthat's technically possible09:35
Seveasbut the theme .so file will be INSANELY LARGE09:35
SeveasI probably need to bring back run-length encoding09:35
kwwiiit would be a matter of making it look good with as few frames as possible and then only including the pics going one way and do the return by playing them backwards09:35
kwwiiit would be neat to be able to use an mng file :-)09:36
kwwiiwe wrote fbmngplay for the bootsplash just for that purpose09:37
Seveashttps://wiki.ubuntu.com/EasierUsplashThemingSpec09:51
kwwiiSeveas: wow, sounds nice (and the app looks nice)...one thing though, it would be good to preserve the ability to not use the +map option if one has made the image's colormaps by hand09:55
Seveassure09:55
kwwiione thing about the scaling...it is not always best to simply scale pics to other aspect ratios...rounded boxes or circles end up looking funny when simply scaled. I use a script to render SVGs (where the scaling doesn't happen with such primitives) - ever thought of addind a "render from svg" function?10:00
Seveaskwwii, add it as comment10:18
kwwiiSeveas: will do :-)10:18

exsIs there a good RSS program, where I am able to look for keywords... so it will notify me when for example it finds "kopete" ?12:04
