Can I just modify some images ? [08:37] PingunZ, I don't have time to guide you through it, read the documentation.... [08:37] Okey :) [08:38] I understand ;) [09:13] kwwii, ping [09:18] Seveas: pong [09:19] kwwii, can imagemagick extract a palette from an image and apply it to another? [09:23] Seveas: I think so...try the -map and +map function of convert [09:24] so you want the -map function [09:24] I want +map [09:24] hehe [09:24] that's even better [09:24] that averges the colormaps [09:25] then it will look a bit betterif things are not perfect [09:26] I want usplash-theme-creation to be easier [09:26] what I did for ubuntu was tedious gimping [09:28] hehe [09:28] did you have to play with the kubuntu pics? I hope not, I tried to make them correctly [09:29] but it is really easy to screw up [09:29] :-) [09:29] the kubuntu pics were perfect [09:29] whew! [09:33] btw. I made an ogg to kinda show what I thought about doing for an animation... [09:34] http://bootsplash.org/kubundu1309-fjpg75.ogg <-- it is really big and long now, but you get the idea [09:35] that's technically possible [09:35] but the theme .so file will be INSANELY LARGE [09:35] I probably need to bring back run-length encoding [09:35] it would be a matter of making it look good with as few frames as possible and then only including the pics going one way and do the return by playing them backwards [09:36] it would be neat to be able to use an mng file :-) [09:37] we wrote fbmngplay for the bootsplash just for that purpose [09:51] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/EasierUsplashThemingSpec [09:55] Seveas: wow, sounds nice (and the app looks nice)...one thing though, it would be good to preserve the ability to not use the +map option if one has made the image's colormaps by hand [09:55] sure [10:00] one thing about the scaling...it is not always best to simply scale pics to other aspect ratios...rounded boxes or circles end up looking funny when simply scaled. I use a script to render SVGs (where the scaling doesn't happen with such primitives) - ever thought of addind a "render from svg" function? [10:18] kwwii, add it as comment [10:18] Seveas: will do :-) === ryanakca [n=ryan@unaffiliated/ryanakca] has joined #ubuntu-artwork [12:04] Is there a good RSS program, where I am able to look for keywords... so it will notify me when for example it finds "kopete" ?
