dokotashiro: vil seems to have tomcat related problems as well07:18
vilhi tashiro07:19
tashiroHi07:19
vilI have a problem with the new eclipse 3.2.1 installing subclipse from the regular subclipse update site.07:19
vilI believe that this is because that there is no user writable location in the Help > Software Updates > Manage Configuration07:20
tashiro$ gij-4.1 -cp /usr/lib/eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.help.appserver_3.1.100.v20060602.jar:/usr/lib/eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.tomcat_5.5.17/tomcatwrapper.jar:`echo /usr/lib/eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.tomcat_5.5.17/lib/*.jar | tr ' ' ':' ` org.eclipse.tomcat.internal.TomcatAppServer07:20
tashirono suitable method `main' in class07:20
tashirovil: yes, eclipse-updatehomedir is commented07:21
tashiroSeems that we need to update the patch07:21
tashiroWe can use the patch from Fedora: http://cvs.fedora.redhat.com/viewcvs/devel/eclipse/07:22
tashirodoko: Does it work for you with this commandline?07:23
dokotashiro: no07:24
dokono suitable method `main' in class07:24
tashiroYes, that's okay. The important thing is that you don't get a ClassNotFoundException07:25
tashiroSo if you still find a ClassNotFoundException in your error log, then it can only be a problem of /usr/lib/eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.tomcat_5.5.17/META-INF/MANIFEST.MF07:27
tashiroI think.07:27
tashiroIt must look like this : http://rafb.net/paste/results/rOo4Ea48.html07:28
=== cycykewl [n=cycykewl@APuteaux-151-1-12-215.w82-120.abo.wanadoo.fr] has joined #ubuntu-java
dokoyes, that looks identical to me07:29
cycykewlanybody here who can help me ?07:30
tashiroYou can also test the Browser Widget with http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/%7Echeckout%7E/org.eclipse.swt.snippets/src/org/eclipse/swt/snippets/Snippet128.java07:30
tashiroI assume that the problem is the Browser Integration07:30
cycykewlI'm sorry I'm newby in java and I need help to develop a simple class07:30
tashirocycykewl: Please try it in ##java07:31
cycykewlI try07:31
cycykewlI nedd to be indentified :(07:31
tashiroTry : /msg NickServ IDENTIFY07:32
tashirodoko: Just open a simple java project, add this class and launch it as SWT Application07:37
tashiroI can also send you a test project if you want?07:38
dokook, using sun-java5 works, must be a gcj problem :-/07:38
dokowell, yes, maybe...07:39
tashiroI started Eclipse with gcj, and yes I got the same problem07:41
dokotashiro, so you did work all the time without gcj? :-P07:42
tashiroOkay, what a joy. I even got my beloved dom exception back "gnu.xml.dom.ls.DomLSException: no root element: U+0"07:42
tashiroDo be honest, yes :-|07:43
dokoknowing this would have saved us a great amount of time ...07:43
tashiroI have done a lot to help finding bugs and to help fixing them in gcj/classpath, but it isn't still ready to be used :-/07:44
tashiroYep, but I always try it first with a properitary vm before I test it with gcj07:46
tashiroHmm, overholt is not available. So I can't ask if they had as similar problem.07:47
tashiros/as/a/07:47
dokotashiro: could you address this tomorrow?07:47
dokowhat about vil's subclipse problem, could you update this patch from FC?07:48
tashiroJa, mach ich, nachdem ich mir nen Pudding gegnnt hab.07:50
vilThis is exactly what I really wanted to ask. You all seem to be from Germany and I wanted to ask if you chat all the time in english. No I know the answer :) I must dust off my german language, to understand you guys.07:52
dokoheh, please don't start speaking russian ;)07:54
vilwell, I am czech. lol07:54
dokooops, sorry 07:55
vildon't worry, vladimir sounds pretty russian anyway.07:56
viltashiro: there is a new jaxen package at alioth so I postpone my activities in this for some time. seems like we have new help.08:02
tashiroOkay08:03
viltashiro: I looked at the Bioclipse source drops page and to me it seems that the last non-packaged, non-optional is Jumbo.08:04
dokoI'm away for an hour or so, diner ...08:04
viltashiro: do you know anything about it?08:04
vildoko: guten Appetit ;)08:05
tashiroYes, Bioclipse is not packaged08:07
tashiroSomeone made cdk packages, I think he was in a project of alioth08:08

dou213hey guys08:08
viltashiro: you already had some preliminary package. is it somewhere?08:11
=== tashiro [n=stephan@e180138146.adsl.alicedsl.de] has joined #ubuntu-java
viltashiro: you already had some preliminary Bioclipse package. is it somewhere?08:35
tashiroNo, it got lost after I lost the content of my hd by an accident.  08:44
tashiroI another interesting link http://lists.debian.org/debian-med/2006/08/msg00009.html08:44
tashiroI used the pdebuild cdbs script. You can find an instance of it in eclipse-emf/ of pkg-java08:47
vilok, I will look at  it. do you know anything about the Jumbo package? I found it as a part of the CML project. it seems that we could make source package of only the Jumbo without CML. right?09:08
vilhttp://cml.cvs.sourceforge.net/cml/09:08
tashiroNo, I don't know anything about jumbo09:10
vildoko: the "python2.3/2.5" issue is solved in the latest pydev, which depends on eclipse 3.2. there is a new radio-button, so you can choose from 2.3, 2.4, 2.5. I would suggest to make new backport patch rather then separate patch for the current version. do you agree? 09:12
viltashiro: ok09:12
dokovil: you're the maintainer :-)09:21
tashiroupdatehomedir patch commited09:23
vildoko: nice :) last time, I used patches from Igor Foox from Fedora. I will ask him, if he's planing some goodies...09:34
