[09:56] that will make clvm start [09:57] (and install) [09:57] fabbione: many thanks, i might give that a shot. === ivoks [n=ivoks@ubuntu/member/ivoks] has joined #ubuntu-server === grogoreo [n=grogoreo@sheeran.plus.com] has joined #ubuntu-server [10:52] hi [10:53] should a firewall (more specifically Shorewall) affect the speed of the connection? If not, then I'm having troubles with Shorewall as I can't seem to ping the server though I can connect to its services like SSH and HTTP. [10:54] You're filtering ICMP, that's why you can't ping. [10:56] could filtering ICMP slow down the connection as well? As if I stop the daemon it quickens up [10:56] is Shorewall just a wrapper for IPTables? [10:56] yes, filtering ICMP could potentially cause many problems === Burgwork [n=corey@ubuntu/member/burgundavia] has joined #ubuntu-server [11:06] I can't really see where filtering ICMP is in the configs. Could Shorewall also be hogging resources? [11:08] ah, I've found it. You put it in the rules file
