Seveasaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgggh09:39
SeveasNOTHING happened on the botserver09:39
Seveasyet AGAIN it is set to don't send mail...09:40
SeveasI'm so fed up with this lack of taking responsibility by canonical that I'm seriously considering pulling the plug on Ubugtu09:41
seb128lack of responsibility on what?09:42
Seveason fixing their mailman setup09:43
Jucato:(09:43
seb128Seveas: what is broken?09:43
seb128lists work fine for thousand of people afaik09:43
seb128not sure of what your issue is exactly09:43
seb128did you open a bug or is somebody aware of the problem and what needs to be done?09:43
Seveasyes, people are aware09:44
Seveasand unwilling to fix09:44
seb128who "is people"?09:44
seb128and what is the issue exactly?09:44
seb128'who is "people"?' rather09:44
Seveasthe bot gets set to "don't send mail" all the time09:45

Seveaspeople = sfllaw and the admin team09:45
seb128ok09:45
seb128well09:45
seb128does the bot send mails?09:45
seb128or that's just a normal subscriber?09:46
Seveasit's just a subscriber09:46
seb128weird that it gets unsubscribed09:46
seb128I never got unsubscribed from an ubuntu list afaik09:46
Seveasit just gets set to "don't send mail" because apparently it has trouble sending the bot mail09:47
Seveaswhich is weird, because *noone else* has trouble sending anyone on that server mail09:47
seb128ah09:47
seb128mayube ""*noone else*" send that many mails?09:47
Seveastrue, but the server indicates nothing wrong, it just stops sending09:48

aileanok, cheers11:06
ajmitchit's considered bad practice11:06
aileanthat's cool - it's why i'm asking the question :)11:07
ajmitchas some canonical guys will say, they don't like bugs assigned to them unless you're paying their salary/are their boss11:07

=== a7p wispers: "Give it to the FSF".

aileanAdmiral_Chicago, they're not as easy to use as windows is yet11:17
aileanAdmiral_Chicago, and i would like them *to* be11:17
Admiral_Chicagoailean: i think KDE is really really easy to use but that's just me11:17
aileani agree, but simple things like assigning a program to a file take it out of my girlfriend s dad11:18
Admiral_Chicagopersonally, i'd give to amarok because i love that program...11:18
aileanAdmiral_Chicago, nope :)11:18
ailean$50 p/w is a fair bit of cashflow for open source yeah?11:19
aileanhow much time is that per week would you say?11:19

Jozo-Laibsch: quote from bug 48517 by  Scott James Remnant. If this is official something like official way say what Ubuntu doesn't supports....06:39
UbugtuMalone bug 48517 in sysvinit "Improper filesystem unmount order (swap on files)" [Wishlist,Confirmed]  http://launchpad.net/bugs/4851706:39
Jozo-s/official//06:40
LaibschJozo-: I know this is a quote.  But there was nothing given as a backup to this claim.  I can only assume this is NO official stance.  Furthermore, as I said in the report.  If it is not supported than that is OK, but it should really be NOT supported all the way, then.06:43
Jozo-Laibsch: I'm little bit disappointment what Scott said.06:44
LaibschThat is a gross understatement to what my feeling is.06:44
LaibschI am pissed off.06:44
LaibschI already said I think this is a disgrace and I believe his account should be downgraded for this improper handling, but it looks like he is a significant contribute.  Which makes me wonder all the more why his dealings have been so poor on this one.06:45

Laibschcrimsun: Why should I?  I help out like everyone else.06:52
seb128so you should accept the maintainer decision to classify it as wishlist06:52

crimsunLaibsch: it was half tongue-in-cheek, since paid support counts for something.06:53
seb128if the maintain has no time for it it'll not have extra time with an high importance06:53
Laibschseb128: I am not in for a fight.  I wanted to know if there are some guidelines.  If not and this is just purely up to the maintainer and his mood of the day would shed a poor light on ubuntu.  And make it unsuitable for any serious work.  I believe this is not true.06:54
