I have been using Gallery2 for a long time (couple years) and always installed it by hand. I see it in the apt-get repositories but I'm unsure how to implement it? I keep all my websites on /media/shared/shared/www .. I assume Gallery/Plone/Wordpress etc etc .. is going to install somewhere around /var/www .. How can I use it with apt-get since my sites are not in /var/www? [02:26] Off to play with it .. === NineTeen67Comet [n=justin@021M26.oasis.mediatti.net] has left #ubuntu-server [] === Burgwork [n=corey@ubuntu/member/burgundavia] has joined #ubuntu-server === zen-afk [n=zenrox@pool-71-115-219-183.spknwa.dsl-w.verizon.net] has joined #ubuntu-server === foo [n=foo@unaffiliated/foo] has left #ubuntu-server [] === Burgwork [n=corey@ubuntu/member/burgundavia] has joined #ubuntu-server === DJ_Mirage [n=sexybigg@biggetje.xs4all.nl] has joined #ubuntu-server === lbm [n=lbm@82.192.173.92] has joined #ubuntu-server === ivoks [n=ivoks@17-5.dsl.iskon.hr] has joined #ubuntu-server === Stalwart [n=stalwart@ip-10.154.Home-Lan.fastnet.lv] has joined #ubuntu-server [01:13] can anyone tell me what i get if install ubuntu in server edition? [01:14] basic system or bunch of useless daemons? [01:19] 'cli' option in ubuntu install installs basic system, if i'm not mistaken [01:19] server version installs almost same thing [01:19] but different kernel [01:34] different kernel? [01:34] with xen or something even more different? [01:35] eh, more or less [01:35] -generic kernel is desktop kernel [01:35] -server kernel uses different scheduler [01:35] and some other stuff [01:35] it's slower for multimedia, but better on high load (very simplified :) [01:39] oh [01:40] is question about timer frequency for #ubuntu-desktop or something like that? === Stalwart likes 1khz for both system timer and usbhid [01:40] i think there are lowlatency kernels planed for feisty [01:42] in freebsd timer can be set with boot parameter [01:43] i don't think this is possible on linux, but i really am not sure [01:43] maybe you should ask in ubuntu-kernel? [01:53] hehe [01:53] probably === ra1nb0w [n=davide@host132-59-dynamic.2-87-r.retail.telecomitalia.it] has joined #ubuntu-server === ajmitch [n=ajmitch@port166-123.ubs.maxnet.net.nz] has joined #ubuntu-server === truz_`24 [n=truz_`24@74-129-166-232.dhcp.insightbb.com] has joined #ubuntu-server === mralphabet [n=user_nam@71-89-33-80.dhcp.stpt.wi.charter.com] has joined #ubuntu-server === zen-afk [n=zenrox@pool-71-115-219-183.spknwa.dsl-w.verizon.net] has joined #ubuntu-server === mralphabet [n=user_nam@71-89-33-80.dhcp.stpt.wi.charter.com] has joined #ubuntu-server === ra1nb0w [n=davide@82.60.172.85] has joined #ubuntu-server === Stalwart [n=stalwart@ip-10.154.Home-Lan.fastnet.lv] has joined #ubuntu-server === tonyyserver [n=anthony@ubuntu/member/tonyyarusso] has joined #ubuntu-server === tonyyserver [n=anthony@ubuntu/member/tonyyarusso] has joined #ubuntu-server === okaratas [n=ozgur@fedora/ozgur] has joined #ubuntu-server [10:07] -j #ubuntu-tr [10:07] sorry.. === tonyyserver [n=anthony@ubuntu/member/tonyyarusso] has joined #ubuntu-server === Stalwart [n=stalwart@ip-10.154.Home-Lan.fastnet.lv] has left #ubuntu-server ["WeeChat]
