saispohi09:25
saispocjwatson: have you got two minutes for me ?09:25
cjwatsonsaispo: sure11:22
CIA-4ubiquity: cjwatson * r1822 ubiquity/ (bin/ubiquity debian/changelog ubiquity/frontend/gtkui.py): merge changes from train11:43
saispocjwatson: how can i setup automique french keyboard at boot cd ?11:50
saispocjwatson: i hack debian-cd for include universe and all work :)11:51
cjwatsonsaispo: what release?11:51
cjwatsonexcellent11:51
saispoedgy11:51
cjwatsonsaispo: boot with console-setup/layout=fr11:51
saispoyes11:51
saispobut when i type f611:51
saispoi have an english keybord11:51
cjwatsoner, sorry, that's not right11:51
cjwatsonsee11:51
cjwatsonhttps://help.ubuntu.com/6.10/ubuntu/installation-guide/i386/preseed-contents.html#preseed-l10n11:52
cjwatsonoh, for the F6 bit, you can put 'fr' in /isolinux/lang11:52
saispook thks :)11:53
saisponow i play with logo :)11:53
saispoit's too long to mirror ubuntu...11:53
cjwatsonyou *might* find that /isolinux/lang will get passed through to the kernel as well, but I'm not sure if that worked properly in edgy11:53
saispoi think not :)11:54
cjwatsonmight do, actually11:54
cjwatsonedgy didn't work for stuff like pt_BR but I think it worked for fr11:54
cjwatsonunless you have specific information to the contrary11:54
saispoKBDMAP fr.kmp and this in isolinux.cfg ?11:54
cjwatsonwhere did you get KBDMAP?11:55
cjwatsonno11:55
saispok11:55
saispoan example from  website11:55
cjwatsonjust 'fr' on its own without the quotes in /isolinux/lang like I said11:55
cjwatsondon't get creative11:55
cjwatsonwhat website where?11:55
saispohttp://www.frogdev.info/gentoomove/index.php?lien_en_cours=gentoomove11:55
saispoin french excuse me11:55
cjwatsongentoo != ubuntu11:55
saispoyep11:55
saispobut use hacked ubuntu gfxboot and isolinux ?11:56
cjwatson?11:56
cjwatsonthe KBDMAP directive is in standard syslinux, but it's a different kind of keymap and doesn't apply to gfxboot11:56
cjwatsongfxboot comes from SuSE11:56
cjwatsonUbuntu uses broadly the SuSE gfxboot patches to syslinux, with a few minor differences11:57
saispok11:57
cjwatsonhowever the Ubuntu gfxboot *theme* is very much different from anything else11:57
cjwatsonand in this context the theme is not just the logo and stuff11:57
saispofor putting 'fr' in isolinux/lang, i must modify boot-i386 ?11:57
cjwatsonthe theme also implements command-line option handling, gfxboot language and keyboard handling, extra arguments in isolinux.cfg, all kinds of weird stuff11:57
cjwatsonyes11:58
saispook :)11:58
saispoi will try11:58
saispoi see the end of the tunnel :)11:58
saispoafter all cosmetics, i will try kickseed for detecting first hard drive for automatic partition12:03
saispocjwatson: yes ! the hack for french keyboard work fine :)12:08
cjwatsongreat12:13
saispojust a problem with the logo :)12:14
saispoi convert my png but not working12:15
saispoa size is required ?12:15
cjwatsondon't recall right now, but probably, just make it the same size and colour depth as the Ubuntu one12:21
saispok12:24
CIA-4ubiquity: cjwatson * r1823 ubiquity/debian/ (changelog ubiquity.install-any): * Really install the apport hook.12:56
=== cr3 [n=marc@pdpc/supporter/bronze/cr3] has joined #ubuntu-installer
cr3can casper be mounted over nfs? the problem I'm encountering is that in casper-bottom, mountpoints are being setup way before networking02:12
cjwatsoncr3: you want Mithrandir for that02:30
cr3cjwatson: cheers, I'll talk to the robot princess :)02:33
CIA-4ubiquity: cjwatson * r1824 ubiquity/ (configure configure.ac): bump to 1.3.1503:05
CIA-4ubiquity: cjwatson * r1825 ubiquity/ (bin/ubiquity debian/changelog):03:08
CIA-4ubiquity: * Switch the new partitioner on by default. As above, use 'ubiquity03:08
CIA-4ubiquity:  --old-partitioner' to disable it.03:08
evandhooray!  No more old partitioner.03:09
cjwatson<sabdfl> clunkier than the old one by the time we release?03:10
evandcjwatson: I have not given up on investigating that error, but I am currently more focused on adding needed functionality to m-a to meet the FeatureFreeze deadline.  If you think this is a bad approach, just let me know.03:11
cjwatson<cjwatson> I don't think it's possible to be clunkier than the old one for very long03:11
evandhahaha03:11
cjwatsonabsolutely target FF03:11
cjwatsonis there anything you're blocked on me for? Oslo wiped me out as far as keeping up was concerned03:11
CIA-4ubiquity: cjwatson * r1826 ubiquity/debian/changelog: releasing version 1.3.1503:12
evandI don't believe so, if I understand what you're asking.  The Ubiquity code is ready to go in except for that exception that crashes Ubiquity when m-a is run with the old partitioner.  Updated copies of ma-ask and ma-apply will be needed for it to work though.03:13
evandAnd as I mentioned above, I'm trying to add as much functionality to m-a itself as possible and get a new release out before FF.03:14
cjwatsonlet me know when you need uploads03:14
evandcjwatson: will do, thanks03:14
evandoh, I should note that I haven't done any work on the kdeui end.  I'm not sure if I'll have time for that as it also requires a lot of work in m-a, but I'll try after everything else is done.03:22
cjwatsonit's not a blocker03:48
cjwatsonin extremis, m-a for just gtk is better than m-a for nothing03:49
evandindeed03:50
