jwendellseb128, around?12:11
seb128hum12:11
seb128for a min12:11
seb128and then going to bed12:11
jwendell:)12:11
seb128you have time for a quick question ;)12:11
gnomefreakseb128: was the gksu issue not launching menu items dbus?12:11
jwendellseb128, about bug 64064, i guess it should not be rejected12:11
UbugtuMalone bug 64064 in gnome-panel ""Run Application" dialog does not run applications in ~/bin" [Low,Rejected]  https://launchpad.net/bugs/6406412:11
=== gnomefreak cant remember :(
seb128why?12:12
seb128I was just looking at it12:12
jwendellseb128, there is an upstream bug opened12:12
seb128that looks like a request to change the default path to pam maybe12:12
seb128well, doesn't mean the upstream bug will not be rejected12:12
seb128that's not really a bug12:12
jwendellseb128, gnome-panel should recognize user $PATH, not system one12:12
seb128any user app then12:13
seb128why only gnome-panel?12:13
seb128and not nautilus or xfce-panel12:13
seb128or konqueror12:13
seb128or or or or12:13
seb128there is a PATH= for a reason12:13
=== rpereirab [n=rpereira@ubuntu/member/rpereira] has joined #ubuntu-bugs
seb128if listing the user dir is a good idea the PATH would probably be the right place no?12:14
jwendellseb128, an ordinary user has to change /etc/profile in order to have things working?12:14
seb128no12:15
seb128an ordinary user doesn't install apps under ~/bin12:15
jwendellhe does12:15
seb128or he knows what he's doing and he's able to edit the path12:15
seb128depends of what you call user12:15
seb128if you are computer friendly enough to install something to ~/bin you can probably edit .gnomerc to modify your path12:16
jwendellseb128, look, programs are supposed to be better each version. If a program can be the dirty job for an 'advanced' user, why not?12:16
jwendells/can be/can do/12:17
seb128gnome-panel is not the place to workaround that12:17
seb128why patching every app that needs that rather than changing the path?12:17
coNPjwendell, seb128 does this mean that gnome-panel lacks PATH support?12:17
welshbyteooh thanks for that .gnomerc tip12:17
UbugtuNew bug: #82377 in mozilla-thunderbird (main) "Thunderbird crashes during mozilla import" [Undecided,Unconfirmed]  https://launchpad.net/bugs/8237712:17
seb128coNP: no, that means the xorg environment has no ~/bin to PATH12:18
coNPactually there is no ~/bin installed I think12:18
coNPI mean no bin in /etc/skel12:18
jwendellthere are many things i don't understand on gnome... we just want to improve things...12:18
jwendellseb128, nevermind...12:19
=== coNP too :)
jwendellforget it..12:19
coNPI'm only asking to understand the situation better12:19
seb128jwendell: I'm all for making things work better12:19
seb128we just have to figure the right place to fix that one12:20
seb128and I'm not convinced that's gnome-panel12:20
pochuseb128: do you know if ubuntu use utf-8 for the filenames?12:20
seb128pochu: it does since breezy12:20
pochuseb128: for all languages?12:20
seb128it should, why?12:21
seb128jwendell: alt-F2 and "zenity --info --text=$(echo $PATH)"12:21
UbugtuNew bug: #82378 in control-center (main) "network-admin creates /etc/ppp/peers/ppp0 without noauth" [Undecided,Unconfirmed]  https://launchpad.net/bugs/8237812:21
pochuseb128: because I think amule is naming the files as iso, instead of utf-812:22
seb128amule needs to be fixed then ;)12:22
seb128jwendell: what does that print for you?12:22
pochuI'm talking to amule devs to see the problem :)12:22
jwendellseb128, my system PATH, not my one12:22
seb128jwendell: ok, why means the environment path doesn't list your user dir12:22
seb128that's not gnome-panel which doesn't respect the PATH12:23
jwendellseb128, who is?12:23
seb128good question12:24
seb128jwendell: not sure, I'll speak with Mithrandir about it tomorrow12:25
seb128ask him why pam doesn't list it to the standard PATH12:26
jwendellseb128, i mean: why not let the bug open, or assign it to another package, instead of closing it?12:26
seb128making gnome-panel look at random dir not listed by PATH doesn't look correct12:26
jwendellseb128, thanks, do it12:26

ajmitchbut we need to track bugs fixed in debian, right up until release10:58
ajmitchonly problem is that for it to work fast, I had to work on a mirror of the BTS data :)10:58
DktrKranzso in order to get a sync you have to file a new bug?10:59
ajmitchyes10:59
ajmitcheg bug 8255111:00
UbugtuMalone bug 82551 in dbconfig-common "Please sync dbconfig-common (universe) from unstable (main)" [Undecided,Confirmed]  https://launchpad.net/bugs/8255111:00
did448sfllaw: is Bug 82529 new apport short version, without core?11:00
UbugtuMalone bug 82529 in scribus "[apport]  scribus crashed with SIGSEGV" [Undecided,Unconfirmed]  https://launchpad.net/bugs/8252911:00

UbugtuMalone bug 81770 in kexec-tools "[Sync Request]  kexec-tools 1.101-kdump10-2" [Undecided,Needs info]  https://launchpad.net/bugs/8177011:00
ajmitchif you're not a MOTU, you have to subsribe ubuntu-universe-sponsors (if it's in universe/multiverse)11:00
DktrKranzyes, i knew :D11:01
DktrKranzi'm not a MOTU ;)11:01
ajmitchI know11:01
DktrKranzjust a wannabe, or something like that ;)11:01
ajmitchwhat are you working on with that bug though?11:01
DktrKranzbtw, that bug requests a sync11:01
DktrKranzi'm not sure at all, though11:02
ajmitchok, then it's not a bug you need to worry about :)11:02
ajmitchbugs are filed for workflow reasons like syncs, requesting that a debdiff be reviewed11:02
sfllawdid448: Yes, it appears so.11:02
DktrKranzubuntu's has some changes to be analyzed before taking sync into consideration11:02
DktrKranzajmitch, i've got a debdiff about it :)11:03
DktrKranzbut it breaks compilation, actually11:03
DktrKranzso sync cannot be considered11:04
ajmitchbut what does the debdiff do?11:04
DktrKranzit is for merging purposes11:04
ajmitchdetails11:05
DktrKranzpitti is not sure about sync11:05
ajmitchyes, if there's a debdiff, you made changes11:05
DktrKranzso i decided to take it for a review11:05
ajmitchwhat changes did you make? :)11:05
ajmitchhave you talked about this with bddebian, who filed the sync request?11:06
DktrKranz!paste11:06
ubotupastebin is a service to post large texts so you don't flood the channel. The Ubuntu pastebin is at http://paste.ubuntu-nl.org (be sure to give the URL of your paste - see also the #ubuntu channel topic)11:06
DktrKranzhere it is http://paste.ubuntu-nl.org/3641/11:06
DktrKranzit has some issues11:07
DktrKranzso i decided not to publish it yet11:07

bddebianHello DktrKranz11:08
bddebianDid I ask who?11:08
DktrKranzbenc11:09
did448sfllaw: IMO CoreDump.gz should be the only file not uploaded, in this case without dbg info disassembly.txt is interesting for dup.11:09
bddebianYeah, I just talked to him today11:09
DktrKranznice ;)11:09
DktrKranzso, no sync or merge in the next days, right?11:09

DktrKranzhas such list to be on a wiki page?11:34
manchickenbdmurray: I honestly don't have a list of bugs I've triaged, I've only been working on making enhancements.11:34
