viviahi, i was looking for packaging of amsn and they told me to come here, i hope it's the right place... i am a developer of amsn and, since i saw that nobody is creating the 0.96 package, i thought i'd do it myself (0.97 will be out in a couple of months anyway). do i just have to follow the instructions in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU/Packages/New or is there anything else i should read? can i ask here if i have any questions during the process?03:01

Adri2000/usr/share/amsn/README ?08:43
Adri2000ok, it's better now08:44
Adri2000in fact the debian package moves /usr/share/amsn/README to /usr/share/doc/amsn/README08:44
Adri2000and same for TODO, FAQ, HELP, ...08:45
viviaouch, TODO is outdated :S FAQ too, the menu redirects to the wiki... anyway08:46
viviais it patched to read README from /usr/share/doc/amsn ?08:46
Adri2000no, that is the problem08:47
Adri2000vivia: README, is it the only file needed and read by the program?08:47
viviai think so, let me commit something and i'll check it in a minute... do you want a patch?08:48
Adri2000no, I think I will just cp /usr/share/amsn/README /usr/share/doc/amsn/README instead of mv it08:49
viviadoc_files       := docs INSTALL CREDITS FAQ GNUGPL HELP README TODO AGREEMENT remote.help   <-- are these the ones that you copy?08:49

pirasthuh.. i cant unsubscribe ubuntu-archive :-(10:36
mooeyhowdy. im trying to fix a bug in the gnome-panel package. i've altered the code, but when i rebuild the packages with 'dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -rfakeroot' it complains that it cant find @cdbs@ as a dependancy. tacking -d to the end of the dpkg-buildpackage command doesn't help as dpkg-source complains later in the process. removing the dependancy from debian/control would work but it reappears each time i try to build >_>10:37
