odati can not find a solution to the nvidia kernel api mismatch11:25
odatnothing in the forums work11:25
AbdoI finish "apt-get install bittorrent " , but none command worked :(11:26
odati can not find a solution to the nvidia kernel api mismatch11:27
maxamillionodat: please do not double post, if someone is knowledgable of your issue they will respond11:29
maxamillionAbdo: i don't know much about torrents :/11:29
maxamillionodat: it sounds like somewhere along a package upgrade or something there was a mis-match, what i would recommend is "sudo aptitude purge nvidia-glx nvidia-kernel-common" and then "sudo aptitude update" "sudo aptitude upgrade" "sudo aptitude clean" "sudo aptitude install nvidia-glx" ... in theory that should resolve version mismatches11:31
maxamillionodat: its an unfortunate annoyance, but it is technically fix-able11:32
odatmaxamillion, well i tried the purg of nvidiaglx and kernel common but not the rest of it11:33
maxamillionodat: the reason i say to do that is because that way you will completely update your apt-cache, upgrade your system, then clean out all previously downloaded packages from your archives and then re-install the packages fresh from the repo servers11:34
odatahhh gotcha11:34
maxamillionodat: well ... its approaching 5am here and i need some sleep, its been a long night of coding and i have a long day of coding to look forward to so i will bid you good night and the best of luck11:37
maxamillionodat: i will be back here tomorrow so if that doesn't help we can excercise other options11:37
maxamillionnight all!!!11:37

Shin_Goukiim so sick i jut want linux ^^03:00
h3sp4wnYou are the 3rd person I know of to complain of that03:00
Shin_Goukiy if it just finish the install i would be very happy :)03:01

h3sp4wnin the interest of releasing on time I guess this wasn't tested03:10
Shin_Goukisomething like: it worked before , why should we test?03:10
h3sp4wnI don't know exactly - but the release candidate was late and instead of the release candidate and delaying the release for a week then they just pushed out the release03:12

defjuxToHellWithGA: it works :)05:19
ToHellWithGAit's pretty-well seeded05:19
ToHellWithGAi have a slow connection so i was happy with it coming at like 70k/s05:19
h3sp4wnI think there is no point in torrents05:20
illu45h3sp4wn, why?05:20
h3sp4wn(transparant proxying by the isp means you will almost always get better just using ftp/http)05:20
illu45h3sp4wn, yes, but torrents are mostly designed to take the load off the server itself05:21
ToHellWithGAmy isp doesn't limit me like that05:21
h3sp4wnyou wouldn't know if they did05:21
ToHellWithGAand since i don't have a fast connection, it only takes a few peoples' somewhat-fast connections to feed me at my full rate05:21
defjuxmy isp throttles torrents so i have to encrypt the packet headers05:21
ToHellWithGAi max out at 90k/s download05:21
ToHellWithGAi can get that from torrents or from ftp05:21
h3sp4wnI don't agree with using torrents if you are on a shared connection (cable/dsl)05:21
ToHellWithGAmight as well use the torrent and share what little upload i have05:22
h3sp4wntrashes up other peoples connections who share with you for no reason05:22
h3sp4wnif you have a t1 or so I don't care as the bandwidth is yours05:22

ToHellWithGAi might as well use what i've purchased05:24
h3sp4wndefjux: cable you share with everyone on your loop05:24
defjuxh3sp4wn: so my isp had better make sure we all get the service we all agreed to pay for, right?05:24
h3sp4wndefjux: Not really05:25
defjuxoh. i wish they would.05:25
nanousrdefjux: If you start to download/upload at full rate 24/7 your isp will likely remove your service05:25
h3sp4wnread the terms and conditions (and compare it to those of a leased line)05:25
defjuxnanousr: no. they won't. i've done it for years. not right now but in the past on the same isp.05:25
ToHellWithGAi don't donate money to ubuntu or pay for support or buy fanboy gear05:25
h3sp4wnIt makes little difference to ubuntu05:26
ToHellWithGAi give back by occasionally helping in IRC or editing the wiki and by helping alleviate some of the company's bandwidth costs05:26
defjuxh3sp4wn: isp TOS is harsh.. i agree. its too bad their agreement isnt similiar to their advertised product...05:26
ToHellWithGAi understand they're a company out for profit like any other, but they gave me something free and i find it to have value05:26

Howdy125WhackJob, every OS has some learning curve to it.07:41

maxamillionatarinox: go to Applications->Settings->Autostarted Applications and add "nm-applet" to it (without the quotes of course) and that way it will automatically load from now on, but for the current session do Alt+F2 to get a run dialog and then type "nm-applet &" (again, without the quotes) and then the applet will appear in your system tray in the main panel11:54
