predaeusMaxFrames, you can do a cd check in the boot menu, maybe it is a faulty burn12:16
predaeusMaxFrames, also you can do a md5 checksum check on the .iso image after downloading before burning to see if it is ok.12:17

Catoptromancy_thatll make nearly all media formats work06:22
schlumpf-k thx06:22
TheSheepCatoptromancy_: gstreamer is not necessary, and it would pull in half of gnome06:22
Catoptromancy_hmmm06:23
schlumpf-so?06:23
TheSheepCatoptromancy_: better use the xine plugin for mozilla06:23
Catoptromancy_I dont need gtreamers?06:23
Catoptromancy_totem-xine?06:23
Catoptromancy_what does gstreamer do anyway? will it cut out some media files if I dont have it?06:23
Catoptromancy_schlumpf-, just try totem-xine06:24
Catoptromancy_heh i know that much06:24
schlumpf-he only found totem-mozilla?06:24
TheSheepCatoptromancy_: gstreamer and xine are two possible backends for media players06:24
schlumpf-will that do?06:24
Catoptromancy_intersting06:24
Catoptromancy_ill remove streamer and see what happens06:25
Catoptromancy_ill guess ill have to look for xine compatible ones then06:27

Grey_LokiIs there a way to somehow 'link' network interfaces? I'm trying to set up a game of Age of Empires II (via wine), but it sees my IP as 127.0.1.1, which I think might be 'lo', rather than 'rausb1'.06:39

Grey_LokiAnyone got any thoughts on my question above? I was thinking about creating something like a 'symlink'? I'm not sure exactly what they are, though...06:47

TheSheepGrey_Loki: that's not really possible, I don't think, but wine should see the interfaces...06:47

Grey_LokiTheSheep, hmm. AoEII has a little 'IP' button you can click to get your local network address, and it reads 127.0.1.1. I thought that might mean that it's trying to use 127.0.1.1 as its own IP, and causing problems when I try to connect to a server hosted on a windows box (which I know works)06:48
mIgUeL_sAnTheSheep: im opening the terminal but it keeps comin back to login screen06:50

DaBeowulf'lo. What could it be that after every new boot/session I seem to have lost a few megabytes of space on my xubuntu partition?07:10
DaBeowulfIt's worrying me as it is very tiny to start with.07:11
DaBeowulfWell, not lost I guess but filled with something.07:12
PumpernickleLogging and package caching could be the cause.07:12
DaBeowulfIs there a way to search for all files created/modified after a certain time?07:12
DaBeowulfAnd what is package caching? =o07:14
PumpernickleSure, or at least sort of.  You can use `find` to find files that have a last modified timestamp later than a given time.07:16
PumpernickleAs for package caching, by default anytime you install a new package, the .deb is cached on disk.07:16
DaBeowulfAnd old ones don't get automatically deleted?07:17
PumpernickleNo, you'd have to run `sudo apt-get clean` or manually remove them from /var/cache/apt/archives.07:18
DaBeowulfThanks a lot.07:19
