calcbdmurray: if i see a bug report that isn't security related and it is fixed in a newer version do i close the bug as fixed and state which revision fixed it, or leave it open and mark it fixed in newer version, etc?12:12
bryycecalc, for that ooo bug, I'd mark it wishlist and file upstream with openoffice12:13
bryyce(if it isn't already)12:13
calcbryyce: ok i marked it as wishlist already12:13
calcthe other issue is i am seeing some bugs for older releases that are already fixed or at least appear to be12:14
bdmurray!sru12:14
ubotuStable Release Update information is at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates for main and restricted, while https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU/SRU is for universe and multiverse.12:14
bdmurraycalc: that might be helpful and12:14
bryycecalc, generally if it's fixed upstream you mark it 'Fix Committed', and when it's available in a released version of ubuntu or in an update, you can mark it 'Fix Released'12:14
bdmurray!backports12:14
ubotuIf new updated Ubuntu packages are built for an application, then they go into Ubuntu Backports. See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports - See also !packaging12:15
bryycecalc, yeah those that are against old releases can be marked Fix Released generally12:15
calcok12:15
bryycehowever if there's any uncertainty I usually ask the user if they're still having the issue with Feisty12:15
bryyceif they don't reply in a month or so, then I close as fix released12:15

BjornT__Hobbsee: iirc, there's a bug for it. it's kind of hard, since the page will need a slight re-design to cope with the number of packages in ubuntu.06:48
BjornT__Hobbsee: but it shouldn't be too hard to do06:48
HobbseeBjornT__: do it queue style, with a <next> page.  *shrugs*06:48

BjornT__Hobbsee: i'm going to plan the work for the next two months next week, so i'll see if i can fit it in06:52
bdmurrayHobbsee: if there is a particular package you are interested in bug numbers can do a query for you06:52
HobbseeBjornT__: okay, thanks06:52
Hobbseebdmurray: it's more that i want to know overall, and see where the trouble spots are06:52
Hobbseebdmurray: i mean, if i knew a troublesome package, then i'd look it up06:53
Hobbseebut it's very hard at the moment to actually find a package with bugs on it, if i've not heard of it's name somewhere else06:53
Hobbseeas in, any random package that we sync from debian no dev looks at.  so any bugs there get ignored.  it'd be interesting to have a better way of finding those types of packages, and forwarding them elsewhere06:53
Hobbseebecause the 30K clearly arent hiding only in the packages that we modify06:54
bdmurrayHobbsee: a while I go I updated https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BugSquad/AdoptPackage with packages with 100+ bugs would that be useful?06:54

pochuAnd looks like kdebase too06:57
calcpochu: ooo only has ~ 500 bugs total06:57
pochucalc: as X and Ubiquity more or less :)06:57
calcpochu: thats ~ 1.7% of the overall total06:57

Hobbseecalc: that's what i'm thinking.06:57
