[10:42] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/Lenovo3000C200_8922AZG [10:44] Bassetts: all standard installations should work from the box. Anything else is a bug. Please check carefully if there's a bug on it from before! [10:44] ok [10:44] also put in "OK" or something on everything that works [10:45] theres another model of c200 with a few different bits of hardware, and the author put cpu scaling as a yes so i am not too sure [10:46] i put yes for all that worked [10:47] check with the other person then, if it really works or not [10:47] i have emailed them [10:48] i ran the command on the wiki under the FAQ and got "cpu scaling not supported" [10:49] /etc/init.d/powernowd: 156: cannot create /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0//cpufreq/scaling_governor: Directory nonexistent [10:49] * CPU frequency scaling not supported [10:50] then it's probably not a bug [10:50] ok [10:51] The other computer is using Core 2 Duo, which has a scaling support [10:51] I'm not that sure Celeron-M has one [10:51] ok [10:51] thanks [10:51] Nailor, you helped me out last time right [10:54] =) [10:54] There's propably something that can found just by googling for celeron-m and scaling governors. [10:54] thanks mate, me and the author of the other model both agreed to make seperate reports as the networking and cpu differences [10:54] I'm just guessing it could be the problem [10:54] Ok :) [10:54] And in this case it's propably worth it :) [10:55] well his wlan worked out of the box, i had to use ndis [10:55] the first google result is to do with a lenovo notebook :P [10:56] The other has Intel chipset? [10:56] Apparently yes [10:56] The broadcom chip is a bit of a problem :P [10:57] worked fine [10:58] just used the lenovo drivers for xp [10:58] sometimes it wont connect but i just disable and enable the wlan and try to reconnect and it works [10:58] yeah. [10:58] However, the ndiswrapper isn't the cleanest solution [10:58] it works, im happy [10:58] There exists some reverse engineered broadcom drivers, dunno do they apply on that one [10:59] Yeah :) [10:59] If it works, don't fix it they say [10:59] I say fix it till it breaks [11:00] That's a new one :D [11:00] but not for this as i really heavily on my internet connection =p [11:00] *rely [11:03] i think thats enough for today [11:04] Should get sleep soon too. :p [11:04] got about an hour til bed [11:04] Where do you live? [11:04] but i have done enough laptop testing and learning how to package for today [11:04] UK [11:04] Oh. [11:05] I'm stationed in Finland [11:05] cool [11:06] <3 scandanavia [11:07] =) [11:07] Have you been here? [11:07] most of my favourite music comes from there [11:08] sadly, no =( [11:08] but i am only 17 so i have plenty of time to get there [11:09] every heard of Machinae Supremacy [11:11] Sure [11:11] I'm not that keen fan of those, but I some of their songs [11:11] <3 them [11:11] Arch Enemy also [11:11] Dunno about the latest album, I haven't heard it :) [11:12] redeemer? [11:12] Haven't heard. :p [11:13] ..the Arch Enemy [11:13] =O [11:13] And yeah, the Redeemer. [11:13] wikipedia it [11:13] Googled it already =) [11:13] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arch_enemy [11:14] lol [11:14] <3 death metal [11:14] How about Children of Bodom? [11:15] not heard much of, but i like what i heard [11:15] I've seen those live twice [11:15] nice [11:15] Again, I'm not that keen fan but they're ok live =) [11:15] arch enemy would be scary live, having a women with a deeper voice than any man i know === Bassetts [n=Bassetts@5ac7bcac.bb.sky.com] has joined #ubuntu-laptop [11:21] I used to listen a lot more metal than I do nowdays :P [11:24] i settled down a bit but i have been listening to more lately [11:26] Nailor, you think i could get cpu scaling working? [11:28] Dunno, depends is there support for Celeron-M [11:30] its non speedstep i think [11:30] oh well === colonel-panic [n=macaroni@dhcp-131-206.Kiewit.dartmouth.edu] has joined #ubuntu-laptop
