[10:16] meeting? [10:16] hey Madpilot [10:16] hi mrevell [10:17] yep, a marketing meeting has been planned for 9 - 10 [10:17] here's teh agenda [10:17] 1. Getting people interesting in doing the Tribe pages without me [10:17] 2. Introduction of Katharine Kinnie, Canonical's new marketing manager [10:17] 3. Questions the community has of her [10:17] 4. Questions she has of us [10:17] 5. Anything else [10:18] Burgundavia: are you there? [10:20] Burgundavia suggested that date, I see, but there didnt' seem to be any confirmation [10:20] 0900UTC = 0200 local - 45min from now [10:22] aha [10:22] oh well, looks like we might need to re-schedule [10:22] Madpilot: when would you suggest to be a good time in the day to go for? [10:24] katkin, no idea. Fire off a note to the mailing list again, I guess. [10:24] the fun of a worldwide group - it's going to be "Oh God hundred" for someone... [10:24] Madpilot: would it be best for me to make a few suggestions for people to pick from? [10:25] Madpilot: I guess so! [10:26] at one point on the Doc Team's wiki pages, we had a grid people could fill in - indicating what times were least-worst for them, so we could pick the most likely compromise time. Making a couple of suggestions is a good idea. [10:29] I see [10:29] thanks for the advice [10:29] Madpilot: so where are you based? [10:29] western Canada - same city as Burgundavia (even better, he's my younger brother...) [10:30] aha [10:30] so it must be early in the morning in Canada right now? [10:31] 0130 [10:31] I'm up late waiting for it to cool off, because I can sleep in later today [10:39] i see [10:39] you're lucky that it is hot where you are [10:39] we have had awful weather so far this summer [10:39] lots and lots and lots and lots of rain [10:39] and not a lot of sunshine or warmth [10:40] it was 36C here today [10:40] I've had the day off, spent it drinking litres of water, getting a bit of a sunburn on the back deck, and mucking around [10:40] you are lucky [10:40] today London is grey [10:40] again [10:41] London is generally grey, in my experience. :) [10:42] although it was hot last time I was there - end of June and 30+ every day. (June 2000, not that recent) [10:42] yep, that's true to an extent [10:42] although we had an amazing summer last yr [10:42] 36C is hot for here - low 30s is more common for summer temps [10:42] it was so hot the grid went down because so many people were using air con and fans [10:43] April was really hot for us - bizarrely [10:43] it has just been raining relentlessly lately [10:43] fun. we had a shite June - way too much rain, and chilly. Then this heatwave broke on us right at the beginning of July. [10:44] Record-breaking June rainfall figures [10:44] Provisional statistics from the Met Office have today shown that June has been the wettest since records began in 1914. America, and even the "Lows" are higher pressure than usual for the western half of the continent... [10:49] I think that means our nice weather is going to last a bit longer :) [10:50] thats good news then [10:50] we were told that we were only going to have one nice day for the whole of July [10:51] Summer officially arrives and leaves on 15th july [10:51] that's a lot of pressure for a Sunday! [10:51] ya, there's a big low out south of Iceland, right on the edge of the wx map I'm looking at [10:52] <-- weather geek (my excuse is the flying, pilots are expected to know this mass of weather bumpf...) [10:56] you're a pilot? [10:56] ya [10:57] the IRC nick is not entirely random :) [10:58] which means I can look at something like http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/data/analysis/jac06_50.gif and actually make some sense of it === mrevell [n=matthew@canonical/launchpad/mrevell] has left #ubuntu-marketing ["Join] [11:02] anyway, need sleep.
