[12:38] anyone around that might be able to help me with a mytharchive problem? [12:38] jeffcster, if its quick. i'm on my way out in a few [12:39] I get all the way to log viewer but then it does nothing. I checked perms on the files but not sure what else to check. [12:39] are you running as the mythtv user or a normal user? [12:39] it's mythtv user, I'm using mythbuntu 7.10 [12:42] ah okay [12:42] do you have a backend on this box? [12:42] or is it a frontend only box === rogue780 [n=rogue780@c-68-55-176-33.hsd1.md.comcast.net] has joined #ubuntu-mythtv [12:43] it's front and back on the same machine, a simple setup. [12:43] lets see then, have you checked the logs themselves? [12:44] no, I'm not sure where they are located. I've been looking through documents for an hour trying to find their location. :( [12:44] well they are in the same directory as your temporary location [12:45] off the top of my head i think the default is somewhere in /var/lib/mythtv [12:45] as you can probably guess I'm all new to this :) [12:45] right, ok I can check them out and see what they have to tell me thanks. :) [12:45] well its very possible you have unearthed a bug with mytharchive within mythbuntu hear [12:45] *here [12:45] Have you checked this http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/MythArchive#MythArchive_doesn.27t_work._It_gets_to_the_log_viewer_and_just_sits_there._What.27s_wrong.3F [12:45] i'll admit i haven't tested that plugin on the test installs yet [12:46] well no complaints, mythbuntu is great for us new guys/gals :) [12:47] jeffcster, anything else that you ran into with the install issue wise? [12:47] ^ @ jeffcster [12:49] just a couple simple things like trying to make video changes during install when I didn't have to. I also had to figure out how to install the system on one drive but record to another larger drive. Overall it was very easy to set up. [12:49] jeffcster, i'm going to have to jet here, if you don't get this sorted out, please file a bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/+filebug . if you do, leave an email @ubuntu-mythtv@lists.ubuntu.com and the packages could be updated accordingly [12:50] thanks superm1 === DaveMorris [n=dave@host-212-158-244-26.bulldogdsl.com] has left #ubuntu-mythtv [] === jeffcster [n=jeffcste@cpe-74-75-218-231.maine.res.rr.com] has left #ubuntu-mythtv [] === pteague [n=patrick@ip72-213-145-156.ok.ok.cox.net] has joined #ubuntu-mythtv === claydoh [n=claydoh@66-252-58-165.dyn-adsl.midmaine.net] has joined #ubuntu-mythtv === Hugolp [n=jo@217.168.3.246] has joined #ubuntu-mythtv === Hugolp [n=jo@217.168.3.246] has left #ubuntu-mythtv [] === OskarL [n=ol@c-c92472d5.022-40-73746f38.cust.bredbandsbolaget.se] has joined #ubuntu-mythtv === Hugolp [n=jo@217.168.3.246] has joined #ubuntu-mythtv === claydoh [n=claydoh@66-252-50-86.dyn-adsl.midmaine.net] has joined #ubuntu-mythtv === reclusivemonkey [n=monkey@host86-132-226-25.range86-132.btcentralplus.com] has joined #ubuntu-mythtv [07:41] Daviey: are you around? [08:58] Daviey: certainly; the Ubuntu one? [08:58] yeah [08:58] err [08:58] or maybe mythtv's [08:59] mythtv's wiki might be better, or does it contain some specific ubuntu gotchas? [08:59] or maybe both. I will have a play around and get something together. It was pretty easy all things considered [09:00] not really. The ubuntu link you gave me for LIRC was straightforward enough. the LCDProc just needed the source package from venky.ws/projects/imon/ and ncurses-dev installing === tgm4883_laptop [n=tgm4883@c-67-160-174-176.hsd1.or.comcast.net] has joined #ubuntu-mythtv === claydoh [n=claydoh@66-252-50-86.dyn-adsl.midmaine.net] has joined #ubuntu-mythtv === Hugolp [n=jo@217.168.3.246] has joined #ubuntu-mythtv === superm1 [n=superm1@ubuntu/member/superm1] has joined #ubuntu-mythtv
