JohnFluxHey all10:49
coNPhey JohnFlux10:49
JohnFluxI seem to have a serious problem.  It's in feisty though10:50
JohnFluxbut I wanted to tell developers10:50
JohnFluxI have a script that just brings up my network10:50
JohnFluxone of the things it does is bring up ifconfig eth0:1  and ifconfig eth0:210:51
JohnFluxthis script has suddenly started to not work10:51
JohnFluxIf I add a 2 second pause before the ifconfig  bit, it works10:51
JohnFluxwithout the 2 second pause, ifconfig does not bring up eth0:1   and just ignores the command10:51
JohnFluxspecifically i do:   ifconfig eth0:1 192.168.5.1 up10:52

coderxthere is but im looking for a GUI10:32
shirishdon't have access to multi-head so sorry don't know, just seen the videos & seen the chats about that but no real experience to speak about10:33
coderxIm told that there is a Screen Preferences menu some where in 7.1010:33
coderxhttp://techtoppicks.com/archive/ubuntu-to-get-better-dualview-support/10:33
shirishyup, X org 7.3 which is supposed to ship out with 7.10 will have lot of goodies attached to it10:34
coderxSo what do i have to install to get it?10:34
shirishif you want that, that's bleeding edge, there is a mailing list on freedesktop.org for X.org , you will have to check out the sources from there & build it10:34
shirishhang on, there is also a thread about it in ubuntu-development , some guy does have a mirror10:35
coderxIll wait till October? :(10:35
coderxwill Alpha 5, have it?10:35
shirishnope, hang on, I have something for you10:35
coderxok?10:36

shirishcoderx: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=490982 use that thread, it has all the gory details, just follow the instructions, it may be stable/unstable dunno about that10:37
shirishcoderx: also there is a dedicated mailing list about X.org & I think they also have a channel/room about that, but haven't been interested to know the details hence haven't checked.10:37
coderxthank you10:38
