Rinchennixternal, ping07:21
RinchenAre you ok with me assigning you the CSS bugs? Calendar and search results?07:21
Rinchenbug 2641 , bug 2642 , bug 264307:22
Rinchento evaluate and close if so desired?07:22
=== LaserJock [n=mantha@lambda.chem.unr.edu] has joined #ubuntu-fridge
Rinchennixternal, I just spoke with NewZ and I'm going to assign them to him.07:39
=== beuno cheers for Rinchen's fridge cleanup
RinchenI've also poked the sysadmins about the http vs https issue08:26
Rinchenit's happening partly because of the other services on the box (one of which I own)08:26
Rinchenunfortunately it won't be fixed for a bit as other items are in front of it.08:27
beunogreat, at least things are moving!    will nixternal be able to play with the CSS?08:27
beunoI haven't seen the outcome of that08:27
RinchenYes. NewZ will contact Rich tomorrow morning about it08:27
beunoyay!08:30
Rinchenwith luck all of the css items will be fixed tomorrow08:30
LaserJockgood08:30
LaserJockthe fridge frontpage makes me cringe08:30
RinchenI'm not prepared to take action on Jenda's blueprint for translation yet. I need to progress further with NewZ on our previous improvement plan for the Fridge before I can reasonably consider it.08:31
RinchenWith only a small fraction of NewZ's time available, it's been slow.08:31
=== beuno looks up Jenda's blueprint
Rinchenhowever I've been working on items behind the scenes directly related other Fridge concerns which were never filed as bugs or blueprints.08:32
beunoRinchen: any examples?08:33
=== beuno misses the pony on the fridge
Rinchenexamples: yes but they are tied in with non-Fridge material which will be released shortly...so I have to beg off answering that question until they are announced.08:34
jendaheya08:36
beunoaaah, right, super secret stuff is always fun08:36
jendaRinchen: what me there?08:37
jenda*what's me08:37
Rinchenhttps://blueprints.launchpad.net/fridge/+spec/rosetta-available08:38
jendaah08:38
=== jenda totally forgot about taht
jenda:)08:38
jendaok, I'm back off to work.08:38
RinchenThe working concept regarding that spec at the moment is that drupal is already translated so we could install those extra modules.  It's on the list but the execution of the list is a bit slow due to resources.08:39
=== beuno wonders how the articles in different language would work
RinchenThey'd have to go into a translation queue of some sort. So, while the UI might be in, say, Spanish, English text would need to be translated. The feed to that could then be used by Spanish Speaking LoCo's that have their own websties08:40
Rinchener websites08:41
RinchenWe've also been toying with the idea of moving from Drupal to Django08:41
LaserJockoh really?08:41
LaserJockthat'd be interesting08:41
LaserJockjust for fridge?08:41
Rinchenno :-)08:43
Rinchenwhich is why it's not done yet08:43
LaserJockI imagine08:44
=== beuno high-fives LaserJock for getting the secret out of Rinchen
LaserJockalthough it's somewhat frustrating to keep changing things08:44
LaserJockmany many ubuntu-related sites around the communit when to drupal because the main site did08:44
LaserJockand they could get the theme, etc.08:45
RinchenYeah, we wanted to know more about Django's possibility before we upgraded Drupal but then the security issue came about and chewed up research time so...it slowed us donw08:45
LaserJockmhm, makes sense08:45
LaserJockwe were just tossing around the idea of using Django for MOTU08:45
RinchenI haven't really mentioned django to the Fridge at whole yet (Rich and Daniel know about it)08:45
Rinchenbecause we're not sure we can support it08:46
Rinchenso I didn't want to get everyone's hopes up08:46
LaserJocknow that our machine is ... moved I don't know what that'll do08:46
LaserJockI believe we might have to rewrite parts of REVU08:46
RinchenIf we were to roll out Django, there is a good chance we can use a single instance to support a number of areas (Fridge, websites, Motu, etc) but it would have to be cleared with our webmaster, IS, and marketing.08:47
LaserJocksure08:47
RinchenAnyway, too many unknowns which is why I haven't mentioned this before. It's not a secret, it just hasn't been researched enough to know if it's feasible.08:49
Rinchenbtw, if it does turn out to be feasible, we have the possibility of rather significantly improving the fridge editor's job.08:59
Rinchenwhich is what I'm after most at this point.08:59
