agoliveirabicchi: Yes, that's what I'm talking.06:30

agoliveira- We do have the standard Claws in Gutsy repository.06:43
agoliveira- In my opinion, to have it on UME it needs to be hildonized06:43
agoliveira- There's a port already but I need to make a few fixes for it be able to use our hildon libs06:43
bspenceragoliveira: I thought frank sent patches for all of that06:44
agoliveiraNo06:44
bspencerhe said he had hildonized it06:44
agoliveiraWhat he sent me is for pure GTK.06:44
agoliveiraMaybe I missed something but I don't see how it would be hildonized.06:44
bspencerhm... ok.  let me check back through some mail06:44
amitk_rob_: you have some time 4th Oct https://wiki.ubuntu.com/GutsyReleaseSchedule06:45
=== cprov-lunch is now known as cprov
bspenceragoliveira: a quick note about GTK and Hildon (to answer you email question).    Hildon classes are all "derived" from Gtk classes.  You can't throw out GTK just because you have Hildon06:45
bspencerand Hildon also tries to reduce its libraries as GTK replaces functionality that it has (like tap-n-hold)06:45
bspencers/Hildon classes are all / many Hildon classes are 06:46
agoliveirabspencer: Yes I know that but if we put standard GTK interface there it will just not integrate well.06:46
agoliveiraAnd there's libosso also.06:46
agoliveiraIf we are to use pure GTK there's no reason to hildonize the applications.06:47
bspencerhm... "use pure GTK" means include the standard 2.11+ GTK libraries.06:48
agoliveiraYes.06:48
bspencerapps --> Hildon --> GTK06:48
bspencerso we Hildonize applications to get the additional benefit of Hildon libraries (look and feel, drop-down menu, window panning support)06:49
agoliveiraExactly06:49
bspencerbut we also include the stock GTK libraries as Hildon classes are derived from them.06:49
bspencerwhat are you proposing instead ?06:49
agoliveiraI'm not proposing anything differnt, just that we compile the appliations to make use of the hildon stack not gtk directly.06:50
agoliveiraBoth will work but the hildonized versions will integrate better06:50
agoliveiraas you said, look and feel, drop-down menu, window panning support, etc06:50
bspencerapplications may still use some Gtk classes directly too06:51
bspencerbut UI-related widgets where there are Hildon replacements should be used when possible06:51
agoliveiraExactly :)06:51
=== bspencer wonders what we were disagreeing about
bspencerok.  so let me check about frank's claws work again06:52
bspencerI thought he said he was ready to go, had Hildonized, etc.06:52
agoliveiraWe were not disagreeing :) I was wondering why Frank was insisting on not using hildon for the interface. Maybe I got it wrong.06:53
bspencerback in a few...06:53
