=== tmarble [n=tmarble@user-38q4et6.cable.mindspring.com] has joined #ubuntu-ports [01:46] hey tmarble [01:48] ciao fabbione! [01:48] what's new in the world of LDOM's on my hardware --> running Linux? [01:48] not much at the moment other than bug fixes [01:48] they are queued in git.. not in archive yet [01:48] did david have to tweak the kernel? [01:48] yeah quite a bit [01:49] oh wow [01:49] he had to write a lot of new code to support LDOOM [01:49] but the support is already in gutsy [01:49] you should be able to install without any problem [01:49] but still a bit buggy [01:49] so if I understand it correctly, then I could have N instances of Ubuntu on T2000, for example, which are separate? [01:50] I need to hunt down an OOPS and we need to fix some multiple ethernet interfaces problems [01:50] yes that's correct [01:50] was the tricky bit sharing physical interfaces through the hypervisor to each instance? [01:50] you still need S10 to run the host [01:50] but that will go away soon ;) [01:51] no, that's done and working. The problem is that we are running out of virtual IRQ when adding more than 15 ethernets in the guest [01:51] it's a corner case... [01:51] normal stuff will work just fine [01:51] i spotted several issues when overloading the guests with tons of disks and tons of ethernets [01:51] this is the last "big" one left [01:51] all the other stuff is simpler [01:52] wow, man, hard to believe we are stuck with a DOS limitation on SPARC hardware running Linux!!! [01:52] nah... [01:52] it's just a bug [01:52] just kidding ! [01:52] it works at the disk layer [01:52] :P [01:52] ehhe [01:52] ok === shinmen [n=alvaro@200.122.166.131] has joined #ubuntu-ports === shinmen_ [n=alvaro@196.40.65.215] has joined #ubuntu-ports === shinmen_ [n=alvaro@196.40.65.215] has joined #ubuntu-ports === shinmen_ is now known as shinmen
