NoobSauceI'm trying to install mythbuntu, but it fails during install. It looks like it's a problem with 7.10 since feisty installs fine. So the question is, is there a 7.04 version for mythbuntu, or some way to upgrade a 7.04 install to mythbuntu? For example, I know kubuntu has a package for ubuntu. Is there a similar thing for mythbuntu? Any proposals are welcome!11:45
lagaNoobSauce: where does it fail? are you using alpha 4?11:45
NoobSaucebased on what I've found, none of that is possible, but hopefully you know different ways around the problem?11:45
NoobSauceit fails right after the 'load linux kernel' part during the install11:46
NoobSaucebasically it fails at step 1. It says something about PCI: cannot allocate....11:46
NoobSauceit seems to only happen for 7.10, edgy, and dapper - but not feisty11:46
lagaah11:47
lagai bet there are various workarounds11:47
lagayou could try booting with pci=routeirq or something11:47
NoobSauceI know that I could manually install everything from ubuntu, but I was wondering if there as some kind of metapackage or something that has a nice walkthrough install...11:47
NoobSaucewhat's PCI=routeirq?11:48
lagaa boot option11:48
lagaseriously.11:48
NoobSaucewhat does it do?11:48
NoobSaucewell, I guess that doesn't matter. I'll give it a shot11:48
lagayou should report your problem as a bug. otherwise, it's possible you won't be able to use any subsequent ubuntu releases11:48
NoobSaucehold on11:48
NoobSaucebtw, this has already been reported as a bug numerous times - it's just that nobody seems to have a solution...11:50
NoobSaucethe boot option doesn't work...11:50
NoobSauce:(11:50
lagathat sucks then :/11:51
NoobSauceso no metapackages or installers that you can download?11:51
lagaah well. so, you want to install mythtv on feisty?11:51
NoobSauceyeah11:51
lagahttps://help.ubuntu.com/community/MythTV11:52
laga^ see this link11:52
NoobSaucewell, I can do it manually if need be... was just hoping to try out mythbuntu since I heard so much good stuff about it11:52
NoobSauce:)11:52
lagaoh, that's nice :)11:52
lagaheh11:52
lagano worries, mythtv on feisty is almost as easy as mythbuntu11:52
lagamy laptop had some weird problems in feisty as well. it would just reboot during boot-up11:53

lagaDaviey: looks like it happens on three ubuntu versions12:22
