lafumawell, i installed apache, mysql, php, ssl etc. after this tutorial http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect_setup_ubuntu70401:16
lafumait worked fine after restart01:16
lafumai read it demands open_ssl passphrase at the beginning when i started the server01:16
lafumai suspect this is the problem why ssl is not working01:16
lafumaany chance i can make it not to ask the ssl passphrase upon restart ?01:17
lafumasince i cant access the machine physically01:17

Jowiyeah, tried there. no answers. I installed the server version because that is what I mostly use this PC for (lighttpd, postfix etc) but I want a somewhat uniform UI as well ;)12:17
Jowiwithout the heavy gnome that is12:17
NafalloJowi: still think you're better of in #ubuntu then here actually. we serverpeople use CLI ;-)12:18
JowiI can edit .Xresources with nano if that make you feel better haha12:18
Jowinah, seriously, it was just to try to get a good tip12:19
lamont"server" == "command line" :-(12:19
lamontwhat's gnome?12:19
Nafallolamont: why the sorry face? ;-)12:19
lamontNafallo: it's called "sympathy" :-P12:19
Nafallolamont: hmm. I think I heard of that... can't remember what it is though :-)12:20
Jowilamont, Nafallo: no hard feelings. I knew I was probably in the wrong place but thought that, "hey, if anyone know anything about this it's probably these guys"12:20
NafalloJowi: sorry to disappoint you ;-)12:20
JowiNafallo, have a very nice weekend anyway and if I need help with LAMP I'll be back ;)12:21
lamontJowi: yeah  -sorry to disappoint.  and yes, I know what gnome is... and I use it, even though ubuntu's primary gnome-guy has asked me why I bother several times.12:21
Nafallo:-D12:21
lamont"why do you even use gnome?" he asks. regularly.12:21
Nafallolamont: hehe12:21
Nafallolamont: what do you answer? :-)12:22
Jowilamont, I can't stand gnome. haven't used it since '01 something. always seemed too.... ummm... windows for me :)12:22
Jowicy guys. take care12:22
lamontNafallo: the original answer was "because ubuntu == gnome"12:22
lamontmind you,I generally use xterms not gnome-terms.12:23
lamontand metacity has a keyboard focus policy that is all lamont12:23
leonelJowi:  gnome-panel gdm metacity xserver-xorg firefox xfonts-base firefox-themes-ubuntu gtk2-engines-ubuntulooks ubuntu-artwork gnome-applets  gnome-system-tools nautilus gnome-terminal ubuntu-docs update-manager   <-- that's for a basic  gnome desktop  for a server12:23
Nafallolamont: I love gnome-terms. and use gnome mostly so that I can have more terminals opened, and now also with tabs! ;-)12:23
Jowiion3 is not bad for multiple xterms without using screen. too bad is changing license after the rc I heard...12:24
leonelthat's what I install to servers when the  client  asks for a  graphical  "face" on the server12:24
Nafalloleonel: must be talking about ncurses ;-)12:25
Jowileonel, yeah, that's what I thought. think it has more to do with me lacking gdm and that I use custom .xinitrc then anything else. my .gtkrc* seems to be ignored...12:25
leonelNafallo: hahaha12:26
JowiI will find a solution somewhere. take care all.12:26
