mekiusWe have a custom live cd and the OEM who we are dealing with wants a way to auto-install onto the drive into a finished state.  Is there anything in place at all to do this type of thing?02:21

mekiusbut it doesn't seem like it is03:46
mekiusslangasek: Given one doesn't need a live cd and an automatic install CD03:47
slangasekstuff that's not flavor-specific doesn't need preseeding, because the debconf defaults get set within the package instead03:47

albertitohi! I think I found a bug in bash_3.2-0ubuntu11_amd64.deb, or at least a regression from ubuntu7. My suspect is upstream patch 20, but I can't confirm it yet (it just look suspicious, but it may also be some other change in ubuntu8 to 10)09:32
albertitoWhere can I get the .deb for all those missing versions (ubuntu8 to 10) so I can bisect which one is the culprit?09:32
rohanalbertito: archive.ubuntu.com09:33
rohanit might have the older version on the mirror, not deleted09:33
albertitothe bug is triggered by the main bash completion script. At the beginning, it tries to set a read only variable, which should just fail and keep on going. But in ubuntu11, it's interrupting the scripts' flow. That means not only bash_completion doesn't run, but also my .bashrc stops after doing . /etc/bash_completion09:33
albertitorohan: thanks, I'll look in there09:33
albertitorohan: no luck :S just ubuntu7 and ubuntu1109:34

Chipzzbut different kind09:42
rohanalbertito: ok, but here bash_completion seems to be working fine09:43
albertitorohan: it doesn't _say_ anything, but it won't work. That shows up when I modify my .bashrc _after_ loading the bash completion, and it dies. If you do an echo after the . /etc/bash_completion, it will run when you open a shell, but not when you reload the bashrc with . ~/.bashrc09:43
albertitorohan: that's because it worked the first time, when the shell opened09:43
rohanbut doing source /etc/bash_completion doesn't give any errors09:44
albertitorohan: if you try to reload it, not only it won't run, but it will also stop the script that's running it (in my case .bashrc)09:44
albertitorohan: it doesn't09:44
rohanoh, it silently fails ?09:44
albertitorohan: try this: put an echo 1 after the ". /etc/bash_completion" in your .bashrc09:44
albertitorohan: start a shell, you will see the 1. Then run source .bashrc, you won't see it09:44
albertitorohan: yes, it fails silently09:45
