asac | hi | 09:01 |

asac | Ubulette: will mozilla release today? :) | 09:30 |
asac | just kiddin | 09:30 |
asac | just searching my inbox for any clue but there isn't | 09:30 |
asac | cwong1: i thought about it and actually i don't really like that master is used for the auto-builds you do ... so lets move our release branch somewhere else and use master as WORKING | 10:55 |
bluekuja | heya all :) | 11:59 |
bluekuja | asac: need some informations | 11:59 |
bluekuja | asac: I have to buy a wireless interface for my desktop | 11:59 |
bluekuja | asac: does wireless usb pens works? | 12:00 |
asac | bluekuja: depends on the chipset :) | 12:01 |
asac | unfortunatley the chipset is rarely known when you buy something | 12:01 |
asac | checkout the internet | 12:01 |
bluekuja | asac: do you suffest a PCI one or a pen drive? | 12:02 |
bluekuja | I would prefer a pen, don't want to open up my pc again | 12:02 |
asac | whatever you can find a the chipset for | 12:02 |
bluekuja | great, I gonna check some pages on internet, then I decide and gonna buy it this afternoon | 12:04 |
bluekuja | I'll let you know | 12:04 |
bluekuja | :) | 12:04 |
asac | bluekuja: http://linux-wless.passys.nl/ | 12:04 |
asac | bluekuja: try to get a green one :) | 12:04 |
bluekuja | oh great! | 12:05 |
bluekuja | let me browse it | 12:05 |
asac | rt2x00 is supposed to work as well | 12:05 |
asac | but its grey there | 12:05 |
asac | i just received a cheer mail where the guy states that it now finally works perfectly in gutsy :) | 12:05 |
asac | but don't count on it :9 | 12:06 |
bluekuja | :D | 12:06 |
bluekuja | darn, the one I wanted to buy is yellow | 12:08 |

asac | yeah | 12:43 |
bluekuja | nice intro | 12:43 |
asac | \o/ | 12:46 |
asac | thanks! | 12:46 |
asac | ;) | 12:46 |
bluekuja | :) | 12:46 |

bluekuja | every new release is a new emotion...really.. | 12:46 |
* bluekuja lunch | 12:47 | |
asac | in #ubuntu-release-party ... there is kind of traffic atm :) | 13:00 |
gnomefreak | !info deluge gutsy | 13:14 |
ubotu | Package deluge does not exist in gutsy | 13:14 |
gnomefreak | !info update-manager feisty-updates | 13:19 |
ubotu | update-manager: GNOME application that manages apt updates. In component main, is optional. Version 1:0.59.25 (feisty), package size 849 kB, installed size 2088 kB | 13:19 |
asac | Ubulette: i am getting more confident every day that soon its time to file an ITP for xulrunner-1.9 in debian :) | 15:18 |
Ubulette | you mean, a8 ? | 15:23 |
asac | doesn't matter | 15:27 |
asac | xulrunner-1.9 ... whatever is good ;) | 15:28 |
Jazzva | asac, you here? :) | 16:37 |
asac | Jazzva: yes | 16:37 |
asac | all fine? | 16:37 |
Jazzva | asac: Cool :). I've submitted two bugfixes for gnome-schedule... I was wondering if you could take a look and tell me what you think. | 16:37 |
Jazzva | asac: Yep, pretty much :). School, computer, friends and then some more school. You? | 16:39 |
Jazzva | BTW, it's bug 134992 | 16:41 |
ubotu | Launchpad bug 134992 in gnome-schedule "[gnome-schedule] Wrong tooltip" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/134992 | 16:41 |
asac | Jazzva: i somehow didn't manage to extract the right patches from your ubufox branch | 16:42 |
asac | why do you maintain them in a ubuntu branch ... instead of upstream one? | 16:42 |
asac | which is why the fixes are now not in gutsy. i am sorry for that, I should probably should send a mail while you were away. | 16:42 |
Jazzva | Hmm, I thought I should do that in ubuntu branch. Then I asked if I could open an FF3 branch which will contain the version that is compatible with granparadiso... | 16:44 |
Jazzva | brb. phone | 16:45 |
Jazzva | asac: back | 16:54 |
asac | Jazzva: i don't know if i acked something that was wrong ... anyway, the changes for admin were not on stable branch et al. | 16:54 |
asac | pretty confusion | 16:54 |
asac | anyway, in the end i failed ... i tried to patch the upstream branch just for the layout and it didn't work in that whatever i selected it would always try to install the first plugin in the list | 16:55 |
Jazzva | asac: Sorry, I probably have misunderstood you. I thought I should name a branch "upstream" if it contains new upstream version and that it should stay clean. | 16:55 |
Jazzva | asac: Really? I'll check that. | 16:56 |
asac | Jazzva: yeah ... i think its my fault of not explaining the branches: | 16:56 |
asac | upstream branches get all the code development | 16:56 |
asac | ubuntu branches only get packaging things ... and cherry-picked patches from the upstream branch (as a patch in debian/patches) | 16:56 |
asac | Jazzva: well ... would be cool if you could somehow replay the changes for the layout and admin against a branch that is based on the current "upstream" branch | 16:57 |
Jazzva | asac: I see :)... | 16:57 |
Jazzva | asac: the ubuntu-core-dev's branch? | 16:57 |
asac | it might be painful ... but for me its as painful ... we cannot just merge over because then there are debian changes et al | 16:57 |
asac | no the upstream branch is in ~asac i think. | 16:58 |
asac | https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~asac/ubufox/main | 16:58 |
Jazzva | Ok. I'll try to do that tonight(probably)/tomorrow. | 16:58 |
asac | you started with the core-dev branch | 16:58 |
Jazzva | What should I do with my branches (ff3 and ubuntu)? | 16:58 |
asac | well ... lets first get the main branch right | 16:59 |
Jazzva | asac: K... | 16:59 |
asac | then we should do a ffox3 branch from that and replay whatever you did in ff3 on that branch | 16:59 |
Jazzva | Well, the most of new things are only in ff3... | 16:59 |
asac | yes the "admin" feature | 16:59 |
Jazzva | So, just to be sure :), I should open a branch named "main", pull from your branch and then apply the changes for the layout and admin? | 17:01 |
Jazzva | ...or "upstream"? | 17:02 |
asac | right | 17:02 |
Jazzva | Ok... I'll do that :). | 17:02 |
asac | at best in more than one commit | 17:02 |
asac | ok why do you need to patch old/src/mainWindow.py | 17:03 |
asac | ? | 17:03 |
Jazzva | That's the bugfix for bug 136537 | 17:05 |
ubotu | Launchpad bug 136537 in gnome-schedule "[Gutsy] Unable to find documentation" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/136537 | 17:05 |
Jazzva | It is solved in the new version (which is not in the repositories). | 17:05 |
Jazzva | I just copied the code from it and tested if it works... | 17:05 |
Jazzva | The old code would look for help in /usr/share/gnome/help and it would report that it can't find the help file. | 17:06 |
asac | ok | 17:07 |
asac | are both fixed in a new version? | 17:08 |
asac | is that a main or universe package? | 17:08 |
Jazzva | Yep, noted that in changelog. | 17:08 |
Jazzva | Just a second... | 17:08 |
Jazzva | hmm... ok. | 17:09 |
asac | please subscribe ubuntu-revu ... once i confirmed the debdiff you can should subscribe ubuntu-main-sponsors ... or -universe-sponsors ... depending on where this package ships in | 17:09 |
Jazzva | universe... | 17:10 |
asac | i think thats the right procedure ... but my brain is currently a bit squashed due to burn-out after release | 17:10 |
Jazzva | Ok, I'll subscribe ubuntu-revu now.. .Thanks :). | 17:10 |
asac | wait a second | 17:10 |
asac | ok | 17:10 |
asac | revu is wrong | 17:11 |
asac | thats for new packages apparently | 17:11 |
Jazzva | Right... | 17:11 |
asac | https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SponsorshipProcess?highlight=%28sponsor%29 | 17:11 |
Jazzva | Anyhow... I think there's a new patch-submission procedure | 17:11 |
asac | its just subscribe sponsores et al | 17:11 |
asac | then set to committed i guess | 17:11 |
asac | but please read the document above | 17:11 |
Jazzva | Ok... | 17:11 |
asac | Jazzva: actually its a good idea what you do ... i wanted to suggest you do work a bit more on packaging issues | 17:12 |
asac | so you get forward in your MOTU application :) | 17:12 |
Jazzva | Umm... what do you mean by "what I do"? bugfix? | 17:13 |
asac | yeah ... providing debdiffs for packages ... getting them sponsored | 17:13 |
Jazzva | Thanks... :) | 17:14 |
Jazzva | Well, just to find a place to do a bit of programming :). | 17:15 |
asac | hmm how many are in #ubuntu-release-party? 1000 ? | 17:17 |
