superm1(eg what got you here)02:51
braddbri changed it to 'mythpass' for now..02:52
superm1where.02:52
superm1and why?02:52
braddbrthis is a fresh install of mythbuntu02:52
superm1right.02:52
superm1so you changed what where, and when02:52
braddbrout of the box, mythbackend was giving me errors02:52
superm1what kind of errors?02:52
braddbrwhat i said, cannot connect to database because of access being denied02:52

superm1or primary?02:52
braddbrprimary, automated install, frontend with primary backend02:53
superm1okay.02:53
superm1and what options did you pick during install?02:53
superm1(perhaps you may have found a bug in the installer)02:53
braddbrok, i skipped the part in the installer where i could click to configure mythbackend.. that may have been it.. it didn't seem to work for me the first time around (because of dhcp issues) so soon as it installed i changed to static ip then ran mythtv backend setup02:54
superm1bingo.02:55
braddbrok, so i HAVE to configure in the installer?02:55
braddbrI can try again if theres a way to set a static ip during the install..02:55
superm1well you don't "have" to02:55
superm1but i've seen some weird reports with static ips02:55
superm1and when mythtv-setup gets run02:56
superm1and such.02:56
superm1very very weird reports honestly.02:56
superm1mythtv-setup is intended to be run before you reboot though02:56
superm1you really should if you can02:56
braddbrok then, i can try to figure out the dhcp error and try to resolve it on my lan02:57
superm1what dhcp error are you having?02:57
braddbrwell i'm not sure now, i think it was gateway issues02:57
superm1but if you can hammer out the exact issue that you had here in a bug though02:57
superm1this would be most ideal02:57
braddbrbut i will try again, i will log everything i do and let you know later02:57
superm1every time someoen gets soemthing weird like this, they can never list everything they did02:57

dwf_starbandit depends, im just learning to use ssh, and its only happened once since i started using it, I tried sshing in and wasnt able to, but then sometimes if press escape and wait a few minutes it returns to the myth menu03:26
dwf_starbandthe problem is its a randomly occuring problem, so its hard to troubleshoot because it only happens when i dont have time to mess with it03:26
