[09:42] morning katkin [09:42] hi juliux, how are things? [09:42] well [13:13] katkin, are you free to chat atm? [13:14] not right now as am just nipping out for lunch [13:14] but can chat later if you like? [13:15] katkin, in an hour or so? [13:16] that should be fine [14:33] katkin, are you back from lunch now? [16:35] So I requested a large number of ship it cdroms several months back, about 95% 32-bit versions. A package arrived last week, 10 cdroms, 70% 64-bit versions [16:38] Oh, well. I'll email them and find out what is going on. Meanwhile, anyone need a 64-bit CD? [16:52] Ah. I see. Only 15 were approved. Someone must have wanted to get rid of the 64-bit versions. [16:54] Never did understand the emphasis on 64-bit discs (shipit sends 1 32-bit and 1 64-bit for registered users). Of the hardcore computer users in town that I know, I know of 5-10 who have 64-bit desktops, and those people are more than comfortable obtaining their own Linux ISOs. [16:54] Who exactly are they targeting with those discs? People with servers? Wouldn't those people use the server-version of Ubuntu? [16:55] Anyway, I'm just talking to myself here, as usual. Just rhetorical questions. [17:02] Can't the Robson be loaded with the liveCD and booted from ? [17:06] Is that a technical question? [17:15] sort of [17:15] If the technical answer is yes, marketing comes in to make it happen [17:17] Robson is flash memory [17:22] Might be a question that would have a better response on the Ubuntu help forums, since this is the first I have heard of Intel's Robson flash devices. === MrM is now known as mrmonday === MrM is now known as mrmonday === johnc4511-laptop is now known as johnc4510-laptop [21:07] boredandblogging: ping, if I write up the blurb for the Kubuntu Website Mockup Contest, mind if I were to add it to the next issue of UWN?
