ochosii had compiz and xgl running and video playback was safe and sound, now that i switched back to normal totem/xine doesn't even start, it crashes with an xserver-error; anyone any idea what that could be?17:32
TheSheepochosi: what error exactly?17:36
TheSheepochosi: and what did you switch?17:36
TheSheeppuneypunk: settings->login window17:37

cellwind929hey, i have a question, i have a laptop with the x1600 mobility ati card. when i start up my laptop, i get a black screen until i hit ctrl+alt+f2, then it boots. is there any way to get around this? I'm using the restricted driver from ati17:42
TheSheepochosi: how did you "switch back"?17:42
TheSheepcellwind929: try putting smaller resolution in /etc/usplash.conf17:43
TheSheepcellwind929: it would probably also boot without you doing anything17:43
ochosiTheSheep: disabled both xgl and compiz (xgl by putting "disable"-file in /home/ochosi/.config/xserver-xgl/disable )17:43
cellwind929TheSheep: thanks17:43
ochosiTheSheep: i mean compiz is simply not in the autostart anymore17:43
TheSheepochosi: what does 'xvinfo' say?17:45
ochosiTheSheep: hmm, basically no good news. seems there's something fishy with my xv: http://pastebin.com/d1459a74817:47
ochosiTheSheep: in my xorg.conf i have xv enabled ( Driver      "fglrx"17:48
ochosi        Option      "VideoOverlay" "on"17:48
ochosi        Option      "OpenGLOverlay" "off")17:48
