ScottKlamont: Is there a particular reason why your postfix 2.5.0-1 package has a versioned depends on libdb4.6 and your 2.4.6-5 version doesn't?00:18
lamontbecause a newer libdb4.6 hit that added the versioned-dep, I expect...00:21
lamontthat is, /me blames dpkg-shlibs00:21
ScottKlamont: It'd be highly convenient for backporting if it weren't there.00:22
lamontis it a build-dep, or a dep?00:22
lamontthe build-dep is on libdb-dev, and needs to be versioned00:22
lamont      gutsy*)           BP="gutsy1"00:23
lamont                        sed -i '/^Build-Dep/s/libdb-dev (>=4.6.19-1)/libdb4.5-dev/g' debian/control00:23
lamont                        ;;00:23
lamontit's automatic, after all... :-)00:23
ScottKDoes it need to be 4.6 or 4.6.19?00:23
ScottKI understand 4.600:23
ScottKDear launchpad, not serving web pages right now is not convenient for me.  Please get back to work.00:28
jackfusionHi all03:12

jackfusionWhen install ubuntu server at the end when it ejects the cd and you hit back then select additional packages to install and it asks for the cd.  I have the seerver disk in and hit enter but it keeps asking me for the cd why?  I have tried changing the cd with the desktop install cd as well.03:29

mok0Hm. Why can't I send mail to myself via smart server?12:09
_rubenmok0: what is 'myself' in this case? your own username? your own (internet) email adres? user@localhost?12:29
mok0Heh12:30
mok0I just want to relay all mail to a smart host12:31
mok0so, if I send to "mok" on the local machine, it get's relayed to our domains central mailserver12:32
_rubenmok0: im guessing your local mta (which delivers it to the smarthost) adds a 'bogus' domain to the username to create an email address (bogus being none, localhost, etc) .. does the mail get lost? bounced?12:35
mok0It gets lost. I am using the default postfix setup. I just added "relayhost" to main.cf12:36
mok0From the log I can see that the mail is delivered to procmail -a "$EXTENSION"12:37
_rubendo you have access to the logs of the smarthost?12:39
mok0yes12:39
_rubendoes it show anything odd?12:40
mok0The log on my machine shows something odd. It looks like the postfix master crashes and gets started again12:41
_rubenmy postfix experience is rather limited .. i do use it on some of our suse boxes but those are configured with yast .. our main mailservers run qmail12:42
mok0Same here. Main mail server runs sendmail. I just want to configure all workstations to forward local mail to the main mailserver. For scripts etc.12:43
_rubensendmail?! gross12:43
mok0I thought it would be quick and easy to configure postfix to do that12:43
_rubenit should be rather trivial indeed12:44
mok0I think I am just missing a setting in the config file12:44
Kighmok0: you may take a look on "esmtp", a small replacement for sendmail, forwarding mail to a smarthost. (with smtp auth)12:46
Kighconfiguring postfix for that job is horrible12:46
mok0Kigh: you mean, instead of postfix?12:46
Kighyes. replacement12:47
mok0Kigh: thanks, I will12:47
_rubenour postfix configs look rather trivial, then again, like i said, those were generated by yast, not by hand12:48
mok0I found a recipe for doing what I want. Now I can see that my box forwards the mail to the mail-server, which looks at it, and tries to send it back to my box :-)12:55
mok0So I have to get my box to not put it's own hostname in the forwarding mail address12:56
_rubenmok0: appears to be myhostname and/or mydestination directives, just a guess tho12:59
mok0It works now!13:02
mok0I just needed a very simple main.cf file13:02

ScottKsoren: libtree-perl is currently sitting with one advocate (me) in REVU.  It might be useful to get it uploaded and into the NEW queue so it'll be built if/when ebox is ready to go.16:01
sorenI can take a look, I guess.16:01
ScottKJust a thought.  Ebox is your baby, so ...16:02
sorenHm... I wonder what happens if I just generate the .changes and leave Javi's signature on the .dsc. It should work, I've just never done that.16:12
ScottKsoren: Yes.  It should work. lamont did that one one of my uploads.16:16
lamontsoren: the changes file has to be signed by someone in the right keyring, and the hashes of the rest of the files have to match reality.16:17
lamont(IOW, who cares who signed the .dsc??)16:17
lamontand the answer, of course is: whoever signed the .changes.16:17
sorenlamont: Right. I've just never sponsored stuff this way. It's always been debdiffs or something.16:17
lamontsoren: depending on the person, I either rebuild it completely from source after diffing, or just smack it through.16:18
lamontand in the middle there is "unpack, compare, testbuild, resign their .changes, upload"16:18
lamontI'm pretty sure that slangasek is the only one I've ever done the "just smack it through" for.16:19
sorenlamont: Heh :)16:19
lamontnot sure how changes==you, dsc==him affects karma though.16:20
sorensoyuz doesn't give karma anyway.16:20
sorenI doubt that's any different if dsc and changes are signed by different people :)16:21
sorenAh, of course there's the lp-fix-bugs magic..16:21
lamontah, ok16:21
sorenOh, but that's assigned to the janitor.16:21
sorenSo, no dice.16:21
sorener.. karma.16:21
