Hobbseedamn you launchpad.  i reported this 404 bug MONTHS AGO, and it's STILL NOT FREAKING FIXED!05:07
* Hobbsee tries to remember what the workaround was. again.05:07
Hobbseeit comes up for *every* *single* *team* *email* *address* *managing*, yet apparently no one feels it's necessary to actually fix.05:08

YokoZarI have an Ubuntu package (zsnes) that added support for amd64 on the last upload.  However, it doesn't seem to be building for amd64, and launchpad isn't showing a failure - it looks like the addition of amd64 to the control file is going unnoticed.09:51
YokoZarWhere might the source of this problem lie?  09:57
Bananahi folks. I have small question regarding the Bug search engine on launchpad.net (I have only tested with the Ubuntu project).10:21
BananaThere is a bug called "no sound hardy kernel 2.6.24-12", with number 20033810:22
Bananaif I search for the keyword "sound hardy kernel", the bug doesn't show up in the result.10:23
Bananaif I put the complete title, the result list is empty.10:23
Bananabut if I put the number I am redirected to the bug page directly.10:23
BananaIt seems that it lead to many bug duplicates (including one by me).10:23
BananaIs it a feature, something specific to the ubuntu project or a bug and in that case should I report it (and where) ?10:24
RAOFBanana: That'd be because the bug is marked as "fix released", so it's hidden from searches by default?10:26
Bananahum...10:27
Bananabut it was also hidden when I first reported my bug (which was a duplicate).10:28
BananaIs this a default behaviour or something each project can specify ?10:28
BananaI think it would be nice to show the "recently fixed" bugs (like some days or a week max) so that people who are not aware of the fix stop submitting duplicates.10:29
RAOFThis would be a worthwhile wishlist bug to file against malone, yes.10:29
Bananaok I'll do it then.10:31
BananaThanks.10:31
Bananait *doesn't seem* to be a duplicate this time :)10:33
Bananaoops seems I've it #90738 after all.10:39
RAOF:()10:41
BananaI did not duplicate this time ;)10:41
BananaI'm adding a comment to that bug.10:41
Bananait seems that this behaviour was introduced by the request on #34046 10:42
FujitsuBanana: It's a good thing, otherwise we'd have hundreds of thousands of bugs in Ubuntu searches.10:44
BananaFujitsu: I understand that the bug should'nt appear forever.10:49
Bananabut for some days ?10:49
Bananaeven for 24 hours.10:50
BananaI think this would prevent duplicates.10:50
BananaThis is a rough estimation I made browsing through the activity logs for this particular bug but out of the 52 duplicates it seems that at least a dozen where reported *after* the fix released status changed (and I'm not counting people keeping on commenting on a bug marked as duplicate).11:00
BananaAnd I suspect this must happen often when nearing a release, when many testers are reporting bugs and fixes are commited quickly.11:01

jisakielgreetings... could somebody help me a little bit with setting launchpad as the bugtracker for a project?21:28
kikojisakiel, sure thing. what's up?21:29
jisakieltxs... I'm the "admin" of hdlorean project (by now just a uni project for a group of students), and we're trying to setup launchpad to be the bugtracker for it21:30
jisakielbut I cannot seem to find where or how do I do that21:30
jisakielwe have some groups registered, branchs associated to each group, a core "~hdlorean" group, and two "main" branches, unstable and trunk21:31
jisakielwhere trunk is the registered "main" branch21:31
jisakielyet, when I try to "fil a bug" it tells me that it's not registered to any upstream bugtracker (which makes sense), but I don't know how to "activate" launchpad to track my bugs21:33
jisakielor where (as I can't seem to find info anywhere, ncht)21:33
Fujitsujisakiel: Find the `Change details' button for the project.21:34
