[06:44] good morning === \sh_away is now known as \sh === doko_ is now known as doko === asac_ is now known as asac [12:57] huhu :) [12:57] hey [12:57] i have a question: [12:57] im going to buy the kohjinsha sa5, [12:58] which has an AMD geode LX800 prozessor. [12:59] but im reading everywhere that intel is supporting ubu-mobile and i dont know if there is also a support for amd-prozessors. [12:59] -and +so [12:59] (pls excuse my bad/worse english, my native language is german) [13:00] no idea, i am not a developer, i believe the targets are i386 compatible but i do not know [13:01] ok [13:02] geode is a ordinar x86 i think [13:03] there is no reason why you cannot run it on any computer, can you run a normal ubuntu on it? [13:03] i think so [13:03] i dont know exactly but i exspect [13:04] well from what i can see ubuntu mobile is a port of the moblin desktop and related applications to a i386 compatible machine [13:05] i can't get the image-creator to work at the moment with hardy, i want it to run on my eeepc [13:05] * fetter_oml was thinking about getting the eee too [13:06] but in germany everyone wants one, and nobody gets one :( [13:09] well in Australia we tend to be the last people to get anything, we cannot get the n810 yet here and have only got the n800 [13:09] :/ [13:10] in switzerland there is still none :/ [13:10] possible because of the switzer keyboards, but ... [13:11] dns53: import? [13:11] * fetter_oml has to import the kohjinsha too [13:12] but i have no idea how :? [13:12] i even dont know how to pay in us-$ [13:12] credit cards do the conversion automatically [13:13] really? [13:13] but i dont have one ... [13:13] im thinking about a paypal account, [13:13] ours do. direct debit cards also should [13:14] but in ct (some very good computer-magazine here) there stands nothing nice about them :/ [13:14] (@ paypal) === \sh is now known as \sh_away === suihkulo1ki is now known as suihkulokki === \sh_away is now known as \sh === \sh is now known as \sh_away === \sh_away is now known as \sh === \sh is now known as \sh_away === \sh_away is now known as \sh [21:31] i want to connect my mobile (k800i) to internet from usb cabel [21:31] i have adsl [21:31] is it possible to use my adsl on my phone ? [21:33] It may be possible, but I think that's outside of the scope of this group. Please see the FAQ at the top of this room. === \sh is now known as \sh_away === jay is now known as _jayc === _jayc is now known as jayc_ [22:16] ToddBrandt: is the best way for an application to know that the screen size changed to listen to a gconf key? Or is there a better mechanism, such as registering with a system deamon. ? [22:31] bspencer: well xserver tells you that but I don't th9ink it has a callback [22:31] bspencer: the best way would probably be the gconf route, since in moblin the only way to change the screen size is via the screen applet [22:31] ToddBrandt: how does the app know? [22:32] there are XrandR calls to determine the resolution [22:32] thx [22:33] bspencer: actually, wait, I just did a search and apparantly xrandr does generate screen change evevnts for capture [22:33] ok. [22:34] ToddBrandt: maybe we should add thta to the list of things to put in a sample app. [22:34] http://www.xfree.org/current/Xrandr.3.html [22:34] sure [22:41] while you are on the topic of screen changing, when will that be supported in Moblin/Ubuntu? My images always respawn if I run xrandr -s 800x600. [22:43] GrueMaster: good Q. It just needs debugging. [22:43] We had orientation change almost working... [22:44] It used to work (back in October). [22:47] GrueMaster: probably a small change. Hildon updating or other graphics issue. I haven't tried anything but rotating on a Q1. [22:51] actually, nevermind. The test moblin image I got on Friday seems to work (at least in this regard). :) [22:52] I had gotten this image to test some other issues, and hadn't run my normal smoke test on it.
