[15:40] ff3.0b5 [15:40] ok [15:41] zefixx: this wasnt for you :) [15:42] nvm, i'm an opera advocate either [15:42] yes..me too its just faster [15:42] flipstar: Do you have flash working in opera> [15:42] yes === vincenzo_ is now known as Goshawk [15:42] but the adobe one [15:43] /dev/shm/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so it says [15:44] but the flashplugin-nonfree is downloaded form the adobe website, right? [15:45] * martalli is going to look === vinicius is now known as Left_Brasil [15:45] hi all [15:46] any 1 have a mx revolution mouse ? [15:46] martalli: it is called 'install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz' [15:47] martalli: the flashplugin-nonfree is probably the one from the repos [15:47] any 1 have a mx revolution mouse ? [15:48] The nonfree package is a script that downloads it from the website. I do most of my upgrades form the command line, so I have seen it downloading it almost like a wget -v or maybe curl [15:49] hm right [15:51] btw im using the beta of opera .. [15:51] from the plugin directory: 7940 -rw-r--r-- 2 root root 8115888 2008-04-10 08:45 libflashplayer.so [15:51] Shouldn't that be r-x or rwx [15:52] -rwxr-xr-x 1 flipstar flipstar 8119784 2008-03-07 20:01 libflashplayer.so [15:52] in .mozilla/plugins/ [15:52] well, maybe that is my problem [15:53] most probably [15:58] hola [15:58] aui es en español? [15:59] español or english here? [15:59] any one here available please i can use some help [16:00] alguien disponible porfas necesito ayuda [16:00] here english, please [16:00] fine [16:00] can you helpme? [16:01] and i lost the sound [16:01] lol seeing if it tell me the same thing in Kannada, but ka must be a different language [16:01] cant hear anything [16:01] Don't recognize the script === zizzfizzix_ is now known as zizzfizzix [16:02] martalli: ca probably [16:02] luis - Did you check the mixer or alsamixer if this is a server setup? [16:02] sodo you have any idea of what i can do to fix it please? [16:02] martalli: where's Kannada and what language does it use? [16:02] i really dont know what r u asking me [16:02] im want to create a separate partition to store my anime which program is the best [16:03] but please just tell me how to get there and fix it [16:03] luis type 'alsomixer' in a shell and check if the channels are unmuted [16:03] *alsamixer [16:03] you mean nin konsole??? [16:03] right [16:03] Kannada is the language of Karnataka, India (that's where Bangalore is). I speak the language after having lived there a year and married a giurl from there =) [16:03] ok [16:03] tashiro: GParted or QtParted (although gparted is more up to date) [16:04] martalli: #ubuntu-ge maybe ? [16:04] martalli: there's nothing that specific, but I think there's !in [16:04] !in [16:04] Sorry, I don't know anything about in - try searching on http://ubotu.ubuntu-nl.org/factoids.cgi [16:04] bah no... [16:04] * Jucato didn't know about -ge [16:04] kn was write - kn.wikipedia.org ka is apparently Georgian (http://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Link_FA/ka/language) [16:05] sp/write/right lol [16:05] nothing this is what it appears: [16:06] sudo: alsomixer: command not found [16:06] luis 'alsamixer' .. [16:06] was a typo before , sorry [16:07] flipstar: right, flash's working now with 9.50b. just upgraded [16:07] ja [16:07] somthing appears [16:07] some bars [16:07] zefixx: nice :) [16:07] luis good..there are all up ? [16:07] There you go, the mixer in its ncurses glory [16:08] no [16:08] Great for scaring your cowrokers at work if if you have sudo access [16:08] headphone and line jac are not [16:09] hi [16:09] could someone help me with qq, none of the im seems to take it, tried kopete, pdgin eva.. [16:09] the ones that are not up says MM [16:09] Did fixing those settings help? I wouldn't think headphones should make a difference, unless it is somehow diverting audio out to another jack from your standard green jack [16:10] Jack111: what's qq ? [16:10] an im used in china [16:10] luis: You can also hit tab to see more channels, depending on your audio card and driver in use [16:11] no thats why is weird last night sound was just fine, i was listening music but this mornig .... [16:11] MM may be the master or one of the master channels [16:11] Jack111: pidgin seems to support qq..whats the problem ? doesnt login ? [16:11] ok i did and theres a lot of them that are not up [16:12] actually just the one that says capture is up [16:12] line, cd, mic, video, phone, aux, mix are down and line is red as well [16:13] is that wrong? [16:13] flipstar it says user disconnected operation not permitted [16:14] luis:Just use your arrow keys to go from column to column and raise them all to the top [16:14] ok [16:16] whats is down is there and it wont come up [16:16] none of the ones that are down come up [16:18] Jack111: can you ping the qq servers? (58.60.9.253 for e.g ) [16:19] flipstar: trying thing is in the pidgin set up it doesnt ask for the qq id number, just for the alias name [16:20] the username is probably the id [16:20] ping: sendmsg: Operation not permitted [16:20] flipstar: ok, trying just a sec [16:26] flipstar: no, i still get the error, and when i ping i get [16:26] opertion not permittes [16:28] permission problem in iptables i would say [16:28] do you have a firewall or so installed ? [16:28] i am trying to run install-mp3 for amarok. i navigated to the directory /usr/lib/amarok and typed install-mp3 in terminal and it said bash: install-mp3 no such command. I changed the mod to +x and tried again with the same result. what am i supposed to be typing to run the script? [16:29] flipstar GUARDDog,what would i need to change? [16:29] allow ping (if you need it) and the qq ports [16:30] try ./ in front of the command jsn0327? [16:30] that gave me the prompt again. doesn't seem like it did anything. what does that do? [16:31] ./ in front of the script? [16:31] yes [16:31] jsn just use tab (for auto completion) [16:31] other people in the forum said that they "ran" this script and it worked. I tried to run it through the run command but i didn't get anywhere there either [16:32] well i opened the install-mp3 up in kate and you can see that it's a bash script. it just doesn't do anything when u try to run it [16:33] i'm trying to install mp3 support [16:33] Jsn0327: for mp3 support just install kubuntu-restricted-extras [16:33] Jsn0327: what flipstar said [16:33] scripts are unnecessary these days [16:34] i installed it. no go [16:34] flipstar: ok, it is either udp 8000-8001 (enable bidirectional?) or tcp 80-81?which should i go for? [16:34] Are you trying to play an mp3 file on your disk, or some streaming mp3 from a website? [16:34] on my disk [16:35] Jsn0327: then maybe give the full path in a shell/use autocompletion(tab) and check that it is executeable [16:35] hmmm [16:35] Jack111: thats very protocol specific..i dont know [16:35] hi peeps, i have an avm usb stick and i have found the link for it but it is not working [16:36] it is a wlan stick [16:36] can somebody remind me what a 404 error is on a webpage? [16:36] not found [16:36] like the site is down? [16:36] or file has moved [16:36] k [16:36] everytime i do dhclient wlan0 it tells me that database is sleeping [16:37] when i type /usr/lib/amarok/ then use tab it gives me the error beep the first time. when i press tab abain it lists the install-mp3 and amarokapp which are the only things in the directory [16:37] cannon: no..if you see the page, the server is up :) [16:37] Jsn0327: then just type 'sh /usr/lib/amarok/install-mp3' [16:38] flipstar: i think thats not the problem, it still says operation not permitted [16:38] can someone help me here with that? [16:39] Strog: exact error message? [16:39] Jack111: try disbable the firewall for testing [16:39] No working leases in persistent database - sleeping [16:40] Jack111: btw you dont really need a firewall..(as long as it is no server or so) [16:40] does it try a DHCPDISCOVER first? [16:40] and " No DHCPOFFERS recieved" [16:40] i did that [16:40] <|jess|> how do i set the screen resolution in xorg.conf? I can't see any resolutions listed in that file. [16:40] and i checked my router it found it and gave the status "registering" [16:40] I have a problem with sounds after upgrading from 7.04 to 7.10...it always says that the "audio is not available: device is busy ()" (in german: "audio ausgang nicht verfügbar: gerät ist belegt ()"...its an Intel ICH8 82801H audio chip (according to lspci)...in 7.04 it worked...anyone able to show me how I may fix this? [16:40] I think that there is something wrong with the script. When i type that it pauses for a second and just goes back to the prompt with no error, or anything happening. When i restart amarok and try to play a file it still says "Amarok can not currently play mp3 files" when the option to install mp3 support which doesn't work [16:40] meaning that it is working still but nothing [16:41] to change a script to executable, the correct syntax is sudo chmod +x filename right?
