tseliotamitk, rtg, tjaalton: I would like to talk to you about the linux-restricted-modules-common since we'll still need them in the future if we want to be able to load proprietary drivers at boot (see the lrm-video, lrm-manager, etc.). Let me know when you're available.13:45

guijemontI have posted a patch that seems to solve #216854 (nvidia modules missing in linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24-16-xen)23:28
guijemontwith it I can build an nvidia.ko that works with a xen kernel23:29
guijemontfor hardy23:29
guijemontI would love it if someone could review it23:29
guijemontI have more or less randomly assigned the bug to tjaalton 23:29
lamontMay 26 16:29:28 mix kernel: [357575.337219] VMBlock warning: DentryOpRevalidate: invalid args from kernel23:30
lamontthose are neat warnings... why do I get so many of them?23:30
guijemontdon't know how (not) clever it is, but he seemed to have handled quite a few nvidia-related things23:30
guijemontincluding atempts to patch for the xen kernel23:30
justdaveI have what's essentially an embedded Linux device which I wiped off the hard-drive on it and installed Ubuntu Gutsy.  Mostly it works great except for a couple pieces of the hardware, and I'm trying to figure out if I can hack this thing so the rest of the hardware works.23:56
justdavesince it's driver-level stuff I figured this might be a place to ask for help, but if this is a bad place, feel free to redirect me elsewhere :)23:57
justdaveI'll probably end up having to hack some drivers I'm sure. :)23:57
justdaveit's basically a 7" touchscreen that hangs on a wall, and has USB and ethernet on it.23:58
justdaveThe hardware I haven't figured out how to access yet is a button on the front panel and some LEDs on the side23:58
pwnguinwhy gutsy?23:59
justdaveIt has a NatSemi Geode processor in it (Pentium 200 compatible I think, but has GPIO ports on it that I'm pretty sure the button and LEDs are hooked up to)23:59
pwnguinhardy's out and might make a more suitable long term hacking project ;)23:59
justdaveer, I misspoke there, Hardy's what I put on it. :)23:59
