[09:55] ping doko [09:58] ? [09:58] I heard that you are the maintainer for libspe in ubuntu, is that right? [10:00] I did the initial packaging, now it's a community port [10:00] just reading the backlog on #cell [10:02] so what is the issue with the libspe package? [10:03] well there is no issue [10:04] I'm about to maintain it for fedora [10:04] and I had a look where you guys put the spu include files [10:04] ubuntu puts it into /usr/spu/include and gentoo in /usr/spu-elf/include [10:05] and I thought it would be nice if there is a common understanding about cross-compiling include files and libs. [10:05] Before fedora decides to put it into /usr/spu-linux/include for example .... [10:05] ahh, ok. I did look at the rpm packages of the barcelona supercomputing center, and then tried to stick to those as a reference [10:06] yes, the Cell SDK3.0 puts them in /usr/spu/include and all these crappy SDK makefiles have these paths hardcoded [10:06] arthur- is working as well on the packages (also on the #cell channel). [10:07] I won't care about breaking these makefile infrastructure. [10:07] I think it doesn't matter that much; if you like spu-elf instead, then maybe provide a symlink to spu [10:07] I just want to do the right thing [10:07] ok [10:08] but once this symlink is in place you may have a hard time to replace it with a directory [10:08] at least that's the case for deb based packages [10:09] doko: cool you're up, you can write an email for my AM report ;^P [10:09] oops [10:09] yes, and that is also the reason why I care about it. I want to avoid trouble in the future ;-) [10:09] yeah, the weather was fine in the beer garden yesterday ... [10:10] looks like /usr/spu is less trouble [10:10] I also think so [10:11] doko: eheh. I bouced you the mail, should be 20080602082848.GE10696@artemis.madism.org [10:11] ok, good. I'm preparing a discussion on the fedora-devel list. Would you mind if I put you on cc ? [10:12] np [10:13] jroth: please also Cc arthur.loiret@u-psud.fr [10:13] we use the gnu system alias for other names as well (instead of the canonical gnu system name) [10:14] ohh, and munckfish seems to be interested in cell as well [10:15] doko: btw I answered pitti's mail on BTS, perhaps should have Cc'ed you [10:15] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=483399#20 [14:10] doko: please don't forget my AM mail this time ;-) [20:51] hello how do i get ubuntu support
