[00:06] hello. [00:06] anyone here using the stupid DViCO fusion remote with a commandIR? [03:19] anyone in here have problems lately with the time getting out of sync? [03:19] I'm trying to verify the NTP settings .. but haven't been able to sort it out .. I think it's on the backend side .. but not so sure [03:20] sabhain: verify ntp is actually installed [03:20] dpkg -l ntp |grep ^ii [03:21] rhpot1991, that's for a client, right? [03:21] one of my backends somehow had the cron job enabled but ntp wasn't installed and it was getting out of sync [03:21] should only matter on backends? [03:21] I might be confusing your quetions [03:22] ok .. well the grep returned this: [03:22] ii ntp 1:4.2.4p4+dfsg-3ubuntu2 Network Time Protocol daemon and utility programs [03:23] so I think it's there .. and there's an ntp in /etc/init.d [03:23] check /etc/cron.daily [03:23] but for some reason I've got a sync problem somewhere. I think it's on the backend, but all the front ends show the wrong time in the guide ... and on the menus .. showing about 6-7 minutes into the future [03:23] should have an ntp in there [03:24] ah, maybe you should enable it on your frontends then [03:24] my problem was between 2 backends, where it would start on MBE time and end on the 2nd backend time [03:24] recordings were all a few seconds short [03:24] yep .. it's in the cron.daily [03:26] oddly enough .. the front ends (at least the one I checked ..) doesn't have the ntp in there .. but the time is correct [03:28] run ntp and see if the time changes?> [03:29] what's the command? [03:31] never mind .. got it .. ran it .. and the time is right and didn't change [03:31] right at the command line that is .. front ends still showing bad time [03:32] but their time is right? [03:35] actually .. I'm finding that their time is wrong [03:36] where do I set the ntp server? [03:37] if I have an NTP server running on the backends .. shouldnt the front ends just sync to that time? [03:42] this is getting ugly .. I can't authenticate the time & date app (to unlock it) and set to network time .. [03:43] getting this from npttime: ntp_adjtime() returns code 5 (ERROR) [03:52] Ok .. thanks for your help rhpot1991 .. I think I may have it sorted out now .. ntptime wasn't working on the front ends .. so there was a mismatch .. I have them synced to the backend now .. and will watch it to see if they deviate [03:52] thanks again [04:03] * phunyguy is away: sleep [05:17] superm1: missed you last night... [05:17] superm1: just hanging out... [07:06] cesman, ah === Tophat-AWAYYYY is now known as Tophat [17:34] Afternoon folks [17:36] anyone messed with the mythphone at all? [18:10] hey all [18:11] in mythbuntu do i have to install v4l-dvb for my dvb-s drivers? [18:11] depends. [18:12] only if your card is not supported by the drivers coming with mythbuntu [18:12] i get a error every time i do ismod dvbloopback.ko [18:12] it a twinhan 102 [18:12] why do you need dvbloopback.ko? [18:12] for sasc-ng to work [18:12] thedarkone: sasc-ng is a method to ILLEGALLY receive cable or satellite broadcasts via a fake software dvb-s/c device. It is forbidden from being discussed in #ubuntu-mythtv, #ubuntu-mythtv-dev, #mythtv-users, and #mythtv. If you would like to learn more about it, please refer to it's developers and keep any and all discussions about it there. [18:13] hah [18:13] i knew it. [18:13] no, you'll have to discuss that elsewhere [18:13] lol [18:13] yeah i know [18:14] i just tring to figure out why ismod gives me error -1 [18:14] no [18:14] really [18:15] ask somewhere else .) [18:15] Zinn has spoken [18:15] hey laga, no pressure, just wondering if you've had any time with the trunk builds? [18:16] stoneymonster: no, unfortunately not. i just need to wrap them up and push them to the PPA. maybe tonight, but not that easy with my finals coming up [18:16] laga: cool, finals come first :) thanks for the update [18:16] s/finals/exams/ [20:42] superm1, ? I've noticed you answered my forumposts [20:42] got a small question left [20:54] nevermind got it! [21:18] new question can i put the live cd files on to a flash drive and boot it that way? [22:45] weird. I have a pvr150, cat /dev/lirc0 returns something when I press the buttons on the remote, but irw doesn't return anything [22:45] I'm on 8.04 [22:45] fresh install [22:46] lircd service is running [22:52] okay, turning the IR transmitter off fixed it :), nm [23:00] superm1 you around?
