Kanohi, why is the intrepid kernel for 686 only? a k6-2 would be working too when you use i586 or i586mmx09:52

sven-tekHello kernel developers. Is there a chance to enable CONFIG_HID_FF (Force Feedback support) and drivers? Until now it is not set, i guess its not enabled because its in experimental state. But from my point of view it should be safe enough. I posted a bug report for this feature request recently, but there was no feedback at all.14:12
mkrufkyIs Steve Langasek in here?19:04

mkrufkywhat is the policy for driver submission for the intrepid kernel?21:57
mkrufkyi have 1 small patch against xc5000 (patch will be in 2.6.27 and it applies cleanly against intrepid 2.6.26)21:57
mkrufkyand i have to add the sms1xxx driver to intrepid as well.  sms1xxx will be included with 2.6.2721:58
mkrufkythe current sms1xxx has some additional trivial cleanups.  for now, doesnt really pay to backport those into hardy lum21:58
mkrufkyeh, i'll push them to my git tree and issue a pull request, but i'd like to know when is the deadline22:00
mkrufky(i'd prefer to wait for the last minute, in case sms1xxx gets any additional fixes in the linux-next tree before actual merge to 2.6.27)22:00
