krijaliI'll send this question out again to see if anyone would like to take a crack at it. I was told to come here to ask a prevu related question although I'm running Hardy (on PPC arch - so yeah it's strictly unofficial, but yeah). When I attempt to run 'sudo -E prevu-init' I get an error back (after a few lines) saying the following: "Failure trying to run: chroot /var/cache/prevu/builds/8156/. mount -t proc proc /proc (then ) pbuilder:01:06

ExilantAny errors today or is it a good time to dist-upgrade?15:36
kalluExilant, there are some problems with kde 4.115:42
AlmightyCthulhuKdesu crashes, Adept crashes no matter what15:44
AlmightyCthulhuand restricted driver manager doesn't work at all15:44
Exilantok, almost never use those anyway15:44
AlmightyCthulhuhah, finally15:46
AlmightyCthulhuupdate that kills off the pc speaker module15:46
Exilantnice :)15:47
* AlmightyCthulhu has always hated the metapackages for desktops idea15:48
lukehasnonameNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO15:49
AlmightyCthulhuthere should be no need for a separate Kubuntu or Xubuntu really, just sections where you can remove or install packages for each desktop15:49
AlmightyCthulhuas it is, you really have no choice of what is on the system15:50
Exilantyes15:50
AlmightyCthulhujust a one size fits all image you better hope you have a fast net connection with which to fix15:50
Exilantwell, you could remove the metapackages15:50
LSD|NinjaAlmightyCthulhu: If you want choice, run something else15:50
Exilantbut that + updates->disaster15:50
AlmightyCthulhuremoving the metapackage doesn't help things15:51
AlmightyCthulhuand it brings in all kinds of dependency nightmares15:51
Exilantyeah15:51
AlmightyCthulhuI always thought it was this gross/horrible hack15:51
AlmightyCthulhuto make the Live CD defaults work15:51
Exilantyes15:52
AlmightyCthulhuI have yet to see another system tell you that removing Firefox/Gecko will uninstall half your system15:52
Exilanti'd like to deinstall OOo for example, but it being in kubuntu-desktop makes that just to maintenance-intensive15:52
ExilantWhat is the satus of ati drivers in ibex or in general? is the opensource ati/radeon to be preferred, or the fglrx?16:14
fdeExilant: I'm fairly sure fglrx still doesn't support xserver 1.5 which is what ibex is using, so your choices are radeon or radeonhd16:56
Exilantah, ok thanks16:56
Exilantis there any new way of setting up radeon or is it the same xorg.conf stuff as before?16:57
fdeExilant: same16:57
Exilantok, thank you16:58
cypherdelicThird party repos are quite more faster available than i remember in the past ubuntu releases. I firstly updated from hardy to intrepid with only the ubuntu repositories. Now i found 60% of my third partys available in alpha 3 already, damn.
